Even if this offer comes to nought, it is a precursor to either another offer in a year or management setting a strategy that lifts the share price as it is delivered.

The services business seems a low risk cash generative business that has room to grow.
The products business should pick up again as he pandemic is overcome, but that may be another two years.

If the board can get the bid to 950-1000 range they will have done well enough.

It's definitely in the boards interest to sell the company. Question is what do Triton find doing their DD. Company has been transparent enough with warning after warning but the board know that Elliot are waiting in the wings to oust them anyway. £10-12 would be most shareholders valuation of the biz when split up. We await and see but I've sold a 1/3 of my holding as this isn't without its risks

Fair value is around £9.8 to £10. I expect a good premium to be paid for CLIN.

I advise taking something off the table. I've seen companies walk away from bids too many times. It wouldn't shock me with this one that after doing DD someone was to unearth some nasties hidden in the closet.

No, different, Triton are the ones who are the suitors. Elliott are activists with a recent stake in Clinigen so no doubt will be putting pressure on either selling (for the right price), or on the management to realise value (selling off parts, hiking dividends which I can't see due to debt level). And being shrewd people, I think they would not have been happy with a 20% return.

I'm thinking aloud here. Think of Elliott, accumulating shares around £6ish mark, that gives them 20% profit to current price. Is that enough to convince them to make this trade in the first place, to take a holding in a business that just had a profit warning with 30% fall (albeit the warning was due to a one off reason). The risk/reward of 20% would be too little... they must see this to be a lot more valuable than the current price, so the offer must be still more than this price

I couldn't believe it..Was shocked and miserable first thing.. and as someone said, an incorrect RNS subject title.Resigned myself to hold until next year and a recovery; went on to buy another 10,000 at 5.50 at lunch time and was so shocked to see the intra day bounce.Think something else is definitely afoot and possibly MM's have a severe tree shake for weak holders to grab some cheap stock.
