11/1/2007 14:17 | Indeed, it had a 10% drop in November over a week or so for no apparent reason - let's just hope there is no apparent reason ;-) | tanners
11/1/2007 14:08 | Balls of steel required here! Up 80p one day, then down 38p for no good reason - buying opportunity imo. | rivaldo
11/1/2007 08:08 | BDI up again, 23 to 4,640. | rivaldo
10/1/2007 08:04 | Sometimes the answers are obvious, but it still takes time for the crowd to realise what they are seeing. This is likely to move sharply once realisation sets in and I am hopeful that the 900p barrier will be broken by month end. | lanzarote666
10/1/2007 07:48 | Tanners - no! The BDI is firm evidence in itself, and the share price is nicely up already from when I and a few others on this thread bought back in recently. There's no reason imo why the rise shouldn't continue till the results come out in March. And yesterday the BDI was up another 38 to 4,617. From memory the BDI was around 4,394 at the end of 2006, already way up on early 2006 - it's now up another 5% in just a few days. | rivaldo
09/1/2007 10:30 | Good work rivaldo with the BDI figures......tho as I stated a little while back it would seem that the market is awaiting some firm evidence before re rating this. Let's just hope it comes up smelling of roses....and not tulips! EDIT.....doe anyone else have Clarkson as showing marginally down on their moitor - for some reason this seems to happen frequently wih this share (when it's actually up), but not that I've noticed with any others? | tanners
09/1/2007 08:31 | Share price is up - and so is the BDI again, up 40 to 4,579. The chart for H2'06 and beyond is pretty impressive. If CKN aren't benefiting then I'm a Dutchman: | rivaldo
07/1/2007 09:24 | And on Friday the BDI was up again. 45 to 4,539. The index has risen by over 3% over the last few days - can't be bad :o)) | rivaldo
05/1/2007 07:53 | The BDI is accelerating, up 42 to 4,494 yesterday. | rivaldo
04/1/2007 10:57 | Ta CR, I'd have thought CKN's running of a freight rate hedge fund could be a big earner in a relatively short timeframe? BDI up again yesterday, 31 points to 4,452. | rivaldo
03/1/2007 16:18 | Firming up again - new leg up tomorrow imo. US data very good today. CR | cockneyrebel
03/1/2007 08:25 | The BDI continues to rise, up 24 yesterday to 4,421. | rivaldo
02/1/2007 22:20 | And to you CR. Your post 782 summed things up nicely. The broker price target was £13 from memory, and if the BDI carries on rising as it has, increased freight rates plus the new diversification of CKN via its acquisitions might just provoke the re-rating to attain that level and maybe more. I wonder if the market has cottoned on to CKN's having made 4 acquisitions for £28m, plus taking on a new Sale & Purchase team, in the last 15 months? Results for 2006 should be in line at the worst given the steep BDI rise, and if the new acquisitions have performed they could be a lot better than that - certainly justifying the director buying just prior to the year end. | rivaldo
02/1/2007 17:55 | Yes, but it's not currently fashionable! Patience required, and probably a top-up if it drifts lower. | westcountryboy
02/1/2007 17:43 | Anyonew still in MSI? | rogerbridge
02/1/2007 17:07 | goatman; had the bug on hogmanay, now wife got it. two days only! get well soon. | valter
02/1/2007 17:01 | Happy New Year CR and everyone! Been back into CKN since May, but topped up bigtime with my MSI money! Again, thanks to CR for posting in December. Been in bed with a tummy bug all day. Nice to see todays rises! Worth getting up for! G | goatman
02/1/2007 15:00 | Well that has been a lovely timed buy :-) No problem Lanzarote :-) Agree with Rivaldo - on the up to a tenner, some time in Jan I suspect, early Feb latest imo. Director buy Dec 4 says a trading statement early Feb or just before imo. Did well out of these an age go (5 years ago at a guess) when they put out a trading statement in Jan'Feb I think. The prob/pleasurew of CKN is their fortunes change very swiftly and stronly quite often. Makes them a pain in the butt to be holding at the top of a cycle but most pleasureable if you catch them on a bottoming. Bounced from their July 05 low. looking at a long term chart I bet these might even be £15 in a year to 18 months if this is a cycle bottom and moving up. CR | cockneyrebel
02/1/2007 13:06 | One month on and the value hunters are as pleased as punch. ;-) But I still cannot find any news or rumour that has got this going today? Thank you CR for highlighting the directors purchase on 4 December and well done. | lanzarote666
02/1/2007 12:27 | why the big rise any new news? Bid on the way??? | qs9
02/1/2007 12:09 | Well I bought back into these in early Dec after the chief Exec bought circa £250,000 of shares.... and yet again I see the value of following dirs dealings. | dorisken
02/1/2007 10:49 | Cambium,agreed..boug | utsushi
02/1/2007 10:48 | LOL C! Y'know I said it wouldn't take long to get to 900p - make that 1000p... | rivaldo |
