Why is the share price dropping like a stone off the back of these results?

That was a great little packet of results to get on a Monday morning. Not even the glimmer of a disappointment in there. Very glad to see they upped the dividend a bit too. I'm going to completely ignore the MM games with the share price today and firmly believe we'll be over £10.00 within 3 days. If the BDI continues to show strength into June - this will be over £11 by June 1st or, I'll eat my hat.

Next come the upgrades. Current consensus for 2007 T/O 115M and 80.42EPS is way out as we can see.

An excellent set of results. The outlook in every single area looks fantastic. Plus all the acquistions will contribute to profitability in 2007. Dividend progressively being increased, we couldn't ask for any more. I hold with pleasure.

Excellent stuff:

EPS at 83p is just above forecasts, nice increase in the divi, big increase in contribution from less volatile divisions, utilising borowing more to gear up and expand the business, the exchange rate weakening shouldn't be such a problem in 2007 etc...

The diversification is great - the hedge fund could be a big winner and stable revenue/profit stream.

Best of all, the order book is up 23% year on year! The outlook is extremely positive and CKN is really coming out of its shell. I wonder if the market will now commence a proper rerating.

As far as I can see they don't mention the huge rise in the BDI at all - maybe because they're trying to get away from this perception of the business?

Idio, I doubt they will give 52p unless EPS is closer to 110p. They like to keep it covered more than 2x.. Mind you.. 110p isnt totally out of the question I suppose.

A report containing +80p EPS, little tick up on the divi and a rosy outlooks for 2007 should see this at £10.50 within 3 days. I have my fingers crossed for divi of 52p for 2007.

Held CKN for a while. Bought at 940 and seen it fall all the way down to below 800. Here's hoping my patience rewards with 1100+!

The BDI was up another 55 to 5,330 yesterday!

Looking forward to Monday now. I'm not expecting too much over the brokers' forecasts, which are for 82p EPS and £21m PBT. As long as the adjusted figures pre-exceptionals (provisions etc) are roughly in the same ballpark I'll be happy, as the outlook and integration of all the acquisitions are the most important things.

That outlook should be terrific, and HI'07 should be a real stormer given the BDI etc.

Still going up...Idioterna, I'd have thought if Monday's results are nicely in line and the outlook is as bullish as it should be given the BDI etc, £10.50 will be left well behind.

Since the Notice of Results was issued without any narrative we can almost be guaranteed imo that the numbers will be there or thereabouts.

Hard to understand share price vagaries... limited info on level 2 but everything is now in place for an outstanding set of results and a cracking outlook going forward. Anything below £10.50 by thursday next week would be a disappointment.

Looks strong - just added another 1000 but refuses to show on level 2. Always find it hard to understand the machinations of small caps.

Oh yes...the BDI is up another 49 today to 5,275 - and VLCC rates are still rising and now starting to surpass March/April 2006 levels.

To put this in perspective, the BDI is now double where it was a year ago!
