07/8/2023 12:40 | If nothing else, it's nice to see a bit of blue! It's been an utterly miserable few months for mining companies, despite pretty high metal prices. | bozzy_s
07/8/2023 12:13 | Yep, will the bounce last? | johnrxx99
07/8/2023 11:17 | A weekend press tip often seems to be followed by a bit of a bounce, sometimes even in quite large cap stocks. The question is: how long will it last? Anyone thinking of topping up should probably wait at least until next week. | 1knocker

06/8/2023 08:43 | Well spotted. Share tip: You could mine a rich seam with CAML Apart from having the cash for deal-making, CAML stands to benefit from strong future demand for its metals. Berenberg analyst Richard Hatch flags the miner as “among the lowest-risk, highest-yielding stocks of our coverage, yet it remains overlooked from a valuation standpoint. We would encourage investors to revisit the investment case of this quality name.” Buy. | zho

03/8/2023 14:59 | Just re-watched the presentations. One thing that Nigel Robinson (CEO) kept stressing was the dividend and how important this is... So for 2021 (8p & 12p) and for 2022 (10p & 10p), the hope would be that the interim dividend will be 10p again. Potential concerns I noticed: [1] Zn prices in 2023 H1 seem to be slightly lower than in 2022 overall. [2] Cu production guidance for 2023 of 13000-14000 is slightly less than 2022. Having said that, in 2022 Q3, CAML increased Cu guidance to 13500-14000 and finally produced 14254. In 2022 H1, produced 6617 tonnes of Cu and in 2023 H1 produced 6716 tonnes of Cu. So it seems, as per pughman's post, Q3 is a crucial quarter. [3] The Sasa impairment charge, I feel, has knocked some confidence in the BoD. The positives I noticed: [1] Cu price for 2023 H1 seems to be the same as 2022 overall, but hopefully will strengthen further during 2023 H2... [2] The elevated 2022 electricity costs should have gone down a lot. [3] There are now no debt repayments, but (I believe) about 28-30 million in capital expenditures for 2023. After this, hopefully, available capital will be able to go toward an acquisition. It's certainly taking shape... | dougmachin
03/8/2023 07:48 | Not just CAML. Bloody everything! | spawny100
03/8/2023 07:48 | CAML share price kind of annoying at the moment !! | dougmachin
01/8/2023 07:41 | Q3 is CAML's most productive quarter. They're making good money with these metal prices. | pughman
31/7/2023 21:39 | Copper heading to $4/lb but volatile. | podgyted
31/7/2023 20:40 | Over the next six months at least copper supply is forecast to exceed demand. Expect further price softenning. For decades the big copper consumer has been the Chinese construction industry. The big question is the speed with which electrication world wide ramps up, and with it demand for copper. There may be opportunities to top up holdings here over the next 6 months or so at lower prices. Don't chase.. | 1knocker
31/7/2023 20:19 | Zho Who can afford to phase out fossil fuels? Very few nations(notably ones that have yet to industrialise and are considered developing still) Even supposedly rich nations cannot afford such. It's unreliable, more costly, and absent cheap energy the global economy will slow, and then contract. | geckotheglorious
31/7/2023 12:37 | The trade of renewable electricity will help countries phase out fossil fuels. But demand for the infrastructure is outstripping supply ... ... Company research points to a shortfall of 3mn-5mn tonnes of copper in the middle of the decade, as power grids, wind turbines and electric cars hoover up supplies. | zho
27/7/2023 12:22 | This is going no where until the seller is out. There’s been one here for months. | 2603
26/7/2023 12:44 | The fundamental problem with share buybacks in small to medium companies is the negative impact on liquidity. The real free float in terms of stock that actually trades is usually tiny. The liquidity tests imposed by institutional investors are fierce. | caiman47 |
