Hectorp, Celtic need to negotiate the third qualifying round to reach the group stage. Hopefully this won't be too tricky. Well done the bhoys on winning the SPL. Five out of the last seven.

Shows how much some clubs are worth. Possibly £20-30M cap Celtic are worth 5-10 times this. Celtic win the Premier League Cup and are assured of Champions League football with direct access to the main tiers. This is worth some decent pence on the share price by August - maybe 10-20p.

No Hermana because I've closed out of PCI for the moment , will be back dont worry. Celtic share price with its 20M cap is very undervalued on its international brand potential, Footie potential and income and mainly brand income. and I think its also iunderestimated even by the club's business managers. Let ME take over marketing please!!! The club has also got to the Finals of the Scottish cup and you expect they have to be beating Hibs there. Celtic will be in the Champions league again next season. An English Premier club has to envy the way Celtic can do this each year. 70-90p share price here in a few more months. Pity I missed 25p!

Yes, there is clearly a great deal of hidden value in Celtic's portfolio. The market cap even today appears to be under £20M sterling. There is scope for this to at least double or more.

A great deal of money has been made in Ireland over the last few years in property as a result of which there are quite a few very very wealthy individuals who could buy Celtic or take a very big stake with their pocket money before injecting more into the club - to me it's a win win situation -it's already a well run business some Celtic supporters believe the playing side suffers at the expense of a tight business but you only have to look at the Leeds Uniteds of the football world to se what happens if a club is not run along business lines. One day the investment world will wake up to this great franchise

Still a lot of interest in Celtic shares. You always wonder if the club might do a fundraising again however. Football club shares have a long history of constant investor raiding. IF not, these shares are very cheap and could easily double in the coming 12-18 months.

I take it Celtic are out of the Cup? Won't help the shares short term. Medium term all the other things being mentioned are supportive. Will add on weakness ( ie a few P lower if I can).

article in the Sunday press suggesting that a bidder David Burnside is lining up to buy Murray's Rangers shares and has the backing of several private equity groups. The interesting part of the report though was this bit which is attributed to Burnside.... "When you look at what is happening in England with Russian and even Icelandic oligarchs and venture capitalists buying up clubs it seems that every premiership club is being looked at,so why not Rangers. The club has a special appeal about it because of the merchandising and the very name of Glasgow Rangers which is internationally known" I agree with him about that but there are those, and I don't believe they would all be Celtic fans, who would argue that Celtic's international brand is much more valuable and in the ascendancy than Rangers - my guess and it's no more than this is that if Burnside buys Murray's shares the media spotlight is then bound to fall on Celtic and the possibilities for something similar to develop there - it's well known that the private equity boys have more money right now than they know what to do with so Celtic must look attractive to them. Interesting development today on two fronts FTSE down 100 and all other markets down similar amounts - Celtic shares up 3%+. Also see today's announcement re Hambros and CULS stake

LBO I agree with the Independent ie "one of the city's best kept secrets" Unlike a lot of other quoted clubs it's actually run as a business. I remember being at an AGM a year or two back and after listening to the talks from the platform I felt they were focussing on the business side just a little too much ie being too prudent. On reflection I think they got it just right. Now with the new manager who is a pragmatist(not a religion) and has shown that he can buy well at the level Celtic can afford and the income now beginning to come in from work done on increasing overseas interest in the brand the shares look cheap, very cheap on a relative to the sector basis. The market won't miss this it's just a case of being patient and waiting for a re-rating IMHO

Celtic http://news.independent.co.uk/business/analysis_and_features/article2274499.ece Our view: Buy Share price: 45p (+1.75p) Celtic Football Club has been enjoying one of its best ever seasons. At just past the half way stage, the club is some 19 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League, into the last eight of the Tennants' Scottish Cup and, most importantly, through to the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first ever time. For shareholders, success on the pitch has not always converted into success for their investment. Although the club has dominated the Scottish Premier League for the last decade, its share price was literally decimated between 2001 and 2003, and after staging something of a recovery over the following year, the shares hit a new all-time low in August last year. However, the last six months have finally seen shareholders rewarded, with its strong results on the field, combined with more disciplined cost control, helping profits to grow exponentially and the share price to double. The stock added another 4 per cent as the company announced a strong set of interim results yesterday, and continued progress in the Champions League would be sure to push the shares higher. In spite of its recent recovery, Celtic still looks incredibly cheap on any measure. Its pre-tax profits for the first half alone are less than three times its market value. Furthermore, there remains every chance that the club may get caught up in the recent takeover fever that has gripped the UK football industry over the past few months. Either way, it looks unlikely that shareholders can lose at these levels. One of the City's best kept secrets. Buy.
