Hearts out the CL means a nice pay day for CFC this season. Might not take two years to clear the debt, maybe much sooner. C'mon the hoops!!

Its just a shame that some rich git will pay peanuts for Celtic in a year or two taking control of one of the biggest clubs in the world. The debt will be gone in a couple of years, and the fans will loose any hope of having an input into the running of the club.
This has got to be one of the best buys around today brand name wise.

The lass who gave me a tour of CP told me that Celtic had plans to extend to 80,000 by adding a tier to the only stand that remains single tier. No timescale though.

I wonder whether a poor performance from the club could be more of a catalyst to drive the price up than anything else!! I say this because I expect that if Celtic starts to do badly they are more likely to attract an investor who wants to buy in so that he can change the situation.

There are unconfirmed reports today that Celtic are considering upping the capacity at CP to 80,000.

If it goes ahead that should increase turnover considerably.

Increased turnover with a
reduced wage bill and a fair few
bosman signings will lead to
big profits

Are Celtic looking to moving towards paying out dividends?

Or is Desmond looking to sell up?

Like nearly every other football stock but that doesnt mean theres not money to be made during certain periods. I may be wrong but I'm prepared to take the risk as with their income guaranteed for the next period I cant see any downside for the forseeable future but I do take your point this or other football stocks are not long term investments merely ways for owners to screw more money from their dedicated fans

The Glasgow papers suggest CL qualification worth at least 9M. But that doesn't take into account cash per point. I think its roughly 0.4M for a win and half that for a draw. Celtic will also be due a FURTHER 2.2M should Hearts fail to qualify ie. Celtic will receive the entire Scottish allocation for qualification. In an ideal world Hearts make the last qualification round then get knocked out and qualify for the UEFA cup. They then go on to win the UEFA Cup boosting Scotland's coefficient! I honestly cant see Hearts qualifying. Theyll do well to win their first tie but theyll be unseed for the final round and they'll be playing good sides.

Surprised no share price reaction today. Henrik's intervention almost guarantees bumper results for next year. Salaries have been cut quite dramatically ie. Lambert, Sutton away for a start. And the large transfer fees of past years have gone so less goodwill to write-off. And being in POT 2 the changes of at least finishing 3rd , and being in Europe after Christmas, have greatly increased. Perhpas the World Cup will stoke interest in footie shares over the summer!

Henrik Larsson - the legend lives on (even Thierry quite likes him). Just guaranteed Celtic a £10m windfall for next season thanks to his two assists in last nights CL final.

And we're also into Pot2 for the CL draw.

There you go Madmanc, enjoy the yoofa cup :>))

and Mreyes, we are not a smaller club, just a sleeping giant.

Mick

No holding at present but did gauge interest today and you could trade 25k shares at 28.2-30.2p if remember correctly.

The con is that they will dilute again. Celtic have no interest in the wealth of its ordinary shareholders I'm afraid and are a warning to all those foolish enough to invest in smaller clubs thinking they will be rich if their club becomes like Celtic..............well, no
PLC to a football club is just a source of funds, like a shirt sponsor

Well done Osasuna tonight, just finished 2-1 to Osasuna, just need Barca to win tomorrow and straight into pot 2 :>)

Sevilla beat Real 4-3 but Osasuna had better head to head results and go into CL in 4th spot.

Whether Celtic go into pot 2 depends on the final games in the Spanish league (played tonight I think). Seville play Real Madrid. If they win they qualify for the CL and Celtic will be in pot 3 (assuming they qualify). However if Osasuna win and Seville draw or lose then Osasuna qualify for the CL and Seville dont. Celtic have a better coefficient than Osasuna so would go into pot 2. So a potential double windfall for Celtic if results go their way in the next 36 hours.
