couldn't keep a clean sheet, nor could they score against ten men.

Another penalty missed. All poor management and performance.

Nevertheless, massive results to congratulations to the Celtic fans.

Yes, this neutral is pretty sick that he sold just as Rangers conspired to chuck it away.

it will just paper over the cracks.

Brendan Rodgers is an inadequate manager who inherited a strong squad and has not advanced the squad one jot through coaching or acquisition.

But could Celtic realistically recruit a superior? I say YES, using the cash balance to invest in a better manager who will repay the club through transfer fees and stronger campaigns in Europe. Rangers have managed to bring in better.

mid price goes to 127.5p and of course rather than narrowing to 125p:130p the spread has gone 120p:135p with the offer being upped 5p.

Fan media berates the club for the last two transfer windows.

Yesterday we had a player signed in the January window score two goals. Another goal scored by a player signed in the summer and an assist from a third player brought to the club in the summer.

The decline is 100% on Rodgers.

· Profit from transfer of player registrations (shown as profit on disposal of intangible assets) £2.6m (2022: £1.8m).

looks like fantastic results on first glance.

I see that world football powerhouse Crystal Palace managed to get a manager of 'quality' in short order. Didn't spend months waiting around for Eddie Howe!

yep and the problem is nothing to do with 'quality' or 'recruitment'. Celtic have simply been below par and Rangers... what's the best word??? UNDER par.

Rangers' tails will be up and Celtic doubting their own manager.

neat analysis, wrtmf.

I will add that a goal was scored by a January signing, with an assist from a January signing shows that good business was done in the window. The issue is performances, not pleurs.

Cup win yesterday included a goal from two 'project' pleurs, Bernardo and Holm. A goal from a pleur that was a downgrade on the pleur he replaced (Palma/Jota) and an assist from a pleur that's not good enough to play for Celtic, Mikey Johnston.

My point being that when the manager gets the most out of the pleurs that the business model and recruit team have brought to the club, they clearly comprise many match-winners.

The recruitment team are excellent and the board are pursuing the right model for the plc AND the team.

blimey, some reactionary stuff there, typical of match attendees.

Celtic are top, performing less well in the league than they did last year but delivered a superior Champions League points haul.

Sure, Hart needs replacing. No argument.

But running a football club properly requires compromising to preserve the financial position. It's not a sweetshop.

The experience of the last three years is that the Celtic model WORKS and these guys want to rip it up.

Surely Nawrocki, Furuhashi, Hatate, Palma, Juranovic, Giakoumakis count as experienced pleurs?

Shareholders like me shudder at the idea of this line of thought taking hold.

Rangers add two to their goal difference, Celtic add three.

Two assists last night from Paulo Bernardo, a pleur dismissed by some Celtic fans as a 'project player' etc. only recently!

Hail to the board and the recruitment team. I can see another profit for shareholders coming down the line.

It's amazing what results Celtic can get domestically when pleurs are performing nearer their ability.
