10/8/2009 10:36 | Any news as to what is happening here since the last meeting. | davidruk
30/7/2009 16:13 | Did anyone attend the AGM? I'd like to think they gave some sort of explanation before asking people to vote for this. I seem to be collecting an unpleasant number of these deferred shares. What happens if you sell, do the deferreds go along with the ordinaries? They can't, then there'd effectively be two classes of ordinaries. I guess we're stuck with the deferreds for life, now. Perhaps we can give them to oxfam. | zangdook
30/7/2009 15:30 | Not sure, zangdook - they shouldn't need any more cash, they should be generating quite a bit by now if they have got their act together as promised It may be that they have an acquisition lined up... | ![]() the analyst
30/7/2009 11:10 | I obviously haven't been paying attention. Are they planning to issue themselves millions of cheap shares and dilute us to death? | zangdook
28/7/2009 21:04 | Thanks the analyst - appreciate the update we will have to wait and see what happens. | davidruk
28/7/2009 14:02 | AGM is on Thursday, David Unfortunately, I can't make it as I have other commitments (not helped by the fact I now live 4 hours away) Shame, as I have a lot of questions I would like to ask them More transparency please Last year I got fobbed off half way through my questions when they decided to call and end to the formal meeting and have an 'informal' question session over coffee - of course, a couple of minutes later they had all legged it as fast as they could for lunch! | ![]() the analyst
28/7/2009 13:35 | Is this feed still going? Very quiet what have I missed? | davidruk
17/7/2009 20:20 | Are they merely trying to justify their wages ? From the Times newspaper 8 June 2009..... Ofcom, the regulator whose existence was threatened by David Cameron this week, revealed yesterday that it had handed out a total of £1.6 million to Ed Richards, its chief executive, and the other six top executives. The communications watchdog, based in a modern office block overlooking the River Thames, also paid its 817 employees an average of £71,000 last year - nearly three times the £25,000 average annual salary in the UK. Mr Richards was the best paid, taking home £392,000 and running up an expenses bill of £19,245, principally on foreign travel and entertainment, at a time when expenses are under political attack. Mr Cameron, the leader of the Conservatives, said this week that Ofcom - an "unaccountable bureaucracy" - would be cut down in size, losing policymaking functions, designed to ensure that the quango would "as we know it ... cease to exist". | recto verso
27/6/2009 13:18 | Interesting she is mentioning the Cellcast name. They didn't used to mention the company before, did they? | ![]() the analyst
27/6/2009 13:16 | That does sound good. Does that 9pm - 5:30am time frame include the freeview, I wonder? If so, then that is a big improvement Progress continues... | ![]() the analyst
25/6/2009 13:29 | Thanks for posting that, LDM "Moving to Europe" implies that they are not moving to the UK, so I wonder if that means they are planning a move into the euro territory I agree, though, it's not much of an answer at all. Same old same old... | ![]() the analyst
22/6/2009 20:15 | What the hell are they doing in Hong Kong ? Besides, I thought Cellcast India required no more cash from Cellcast UK ? | recto verso
22/6/2009 19:52 | Got a new iphone at the weekend Numer 28 on the hit parade of apps is none other than a cellcast production got to be worth a few quid???? | percy the pig
22/6/2009 19:49 | I asked CEO Andrew Wilson about the 2008 payments to SMS Media Ltd (£321k + £84k owing as of end of 2008).. This is his reply: -------------------- "Rome wasn't unbuilt in a day.Aside from supporting India (which BTW has just reached profitability) there are lots of other activities that the Hong Kong remunerated team are involved in but for which revenues are accounted directly in the UK. We also in fact have a few international projects in development .....but this time we will be avoiding any investment whatsoever (aside from on the technology and format development side) Nevertheless the payments to Hong Kong are reducing as key members based there now are moving to Europe. This means that the Hong Kong recharge to Cellcast UK Ltd.dropped to around £100K in the fist half of 2009 and is expected to further reduce to £60K for the second half of 2009." -------------------- Well, in my opinion sounds a bit wishy-washy to me, still not exactly sure what we got for our £350k+ payment to SMS Media Ltd on 2008... and for a company that isn't exactly cash rich £350k is a lot of money to be have going out with not a lot coming back for it... ... but there you go, that is the official answer anyway. | ldmachin
21/6/2009 09:34 | Analyst, Couldn't agree more. Accounts and the recent measures need to be explained to assure shareholder confidence. RV | recto verso
20/6/2009 16:05 | So, come on Andrew, Bertand et al., it coming up to the period end.. lets have a pre-close trading update including a really clear breakdown of the SMS/Sky accounts You, (the board that we employ) and the owners (the shareholders) can work together to build this into a company to be proud of. Why Not? The investors will play their part, of course, you just need to be open and honest for it to happen | ![]() the analyst
20/6/2009 16:03 | Now, despite all this what would appear to be damning evidence, I would like to believe that there is nothing dodgy going on at all, the management are working for ALL shareholders and the company is heading in the right direction This is why INVESTORS NEED A FULL EXPLANATION FROM THE DIRECTORS WE EMPLOY This needs to be in the form of an official RNS The explanation NEEDS TO INCLUDE A FULL BREAK-DOWN OF THE ACCOUNTS (for SMS Media / Sky Telemdia) That way, people could believe in the management once again, they could begin to invest in the company again and we can all benefit It so basic, so simple, but it needs to be addressed to help investors understand the company, it's management The owners deserve to understand what they own | ![]() the analyst
20/6/2009 15:57 | Also, from email transcripts the company sent me last year, I was led to believe that the SMS Media money goes to pay overseas management and employees. hmmm, that's interesting, because we have also been told they have only one overseas employee. He is in Brazil. So, go figure. Does all that money go to the one employee in Brazil? If not, then who does it go to? Why don't they open up the accounts and let ALL the owners in on the so called 'completely innocent' figures Reminds me of blacked out MP expenses Let's face it, though, through not giving the owners (shareholders) straight, honest answers, it leads them to imagine something dodgy is going on. You can imagine that most shareholders will be thinking that the cash is simply extra remuneration going to the board, their friends and their family | ![]() the analyst |
