This link suggests that Cellcast infact own Freeview Channels 37 and 46.

Like i said channel 46 was only ever a 9 month contract, so i can't see how Cellcast have sold the bandwidth (although they must have leased a few hours to allow Bingo on the box to broadcast on the channel: )

- Freeview Channel 46 did not exist before Cellcast used the channel.

This is from the 2005 Final results (highlights) :

"Launch of four additional channels on the Sky Digital network and bandwidth secured on the fast growing Freeview platform in the UK with launch expected in the near future"

Next question, have they sold this bandwidth ?

If not, (and i certainly hope not) what are they using this bandwidth for ?

Was channel 46 just an empty slot rented from another owner ?

- CEO, Andrew Wilson told me. Presenters on the Freeview shows have been also quoting this date as the last day for the channel.

- Andrew Wilson did not specify this, he only said they were actively seeking more bandwidth where they can (which is not easy).

- All i know is that Freeview Channel 46 was a 9 month contract... that is now coming to an end.

Secondly, Did this person say the contract runs out and IT WILL NOT BE RENEWED ?

Obviously, it sounds like they contracted time on freeview. The question is, did they buy the time from another bandwidth owner ? (I believe Mirada plc (old Yoomedia) own a fair bit of bandwidth and run (or atleast used too run gaming channels) and may have a bit of bandwidth spare.

or alternatively, do Cellcast own bandwidth on freeview themselves ?

If not the latter, it would seem that Cellcast managements job is to score more time on freeview. I would say that this is more than possible.

I'm not running a multi national corporation. I have interests in three business in Bangkok. A highly successful bar, a hotel & a guesthouse. All profitable.

We all meet offically once a month, usually over dinner, although of course we often have more regular contact. I do appreciate that living in Hull must make you isolated. Please do consider the fact that Bangkok is the real world. Business just don't stop at 6pm.

I think you're jealous. Envy of me & my assets. The fact that I can invest significantly in AIM stocks & hold big positions for years. Jealous of my business interests both here in the UK & Thailand.

Anyway, an extremely productive three hours this evening, ironed out a few teething problems with the new guesthouse. I'm now back at my Bangkok apartment, flying up to Chang Mai in the morning to be with my lovely wife.

Like i said, i don't think it's a case of Cellcast being kicked off for doing anything wrong. It's a case that the original 9 months contract they had has expired. Maybe another company has come in with a very high bid to claim the channel slot? A Price too high to make it worth Cellcast's while for the revenues generated?

Anyway, like it states, they are actively looking for more bandwidth on Freeview, so they are a company actively trying to grow. They still have Smile 1 channel on Freeview (Channel 46 was Smile TV 2), maybe they could do something with that?

The next update from the company should shed some light on things. The good news is that Ofcom seem to be in no rush to change anything to do with TV participation so Cellcast are free to carry on generating cash from their many other channels.
