13/6/2008 16:06 | I wonder if the drop today has been contributed to by that A. People may have clicked on it and not noticed the date of the last RNS as being 11th june? just a thought | ruthykins
13/6/2008 15:34 | rang advfn. they don't know why that A is there. No RNS and nothing from another news source. They're looking into it. No movement on the other exchange. My heart stopped for an instant when I saw it! | cleo1601
13/6/2008 15:25 | An 'A' on advfn but no announcement? | cleo1601
12/6/2008 23:10 | all around the globe there is an established link between the Upper Perimian and Lower Triassic formations....CEK have acknowledged that Hydrocarbons are present in the Triassic......we`ll have to wait for the Total Drilling Depth report. | htrocka
12/6/2008 00:09 | cleo? could be time to buy now | tarzanhey
11/6/2008 19:47 | It`s the first time I`ve seen this today....and initially, obviously gutted...yet they issued an rns before reaching total depth, this I found strange. Also went through the Triassic that indicated hydrocarbon presence....and the Canadians are currently giving the thumbs up....very strange....we`ll have to sit this one out. When Ramco drilled at Donegal a couple of years ago.....they got down to about half way....no sign of Hydro-carbons....and pulled the plug......these are going deeper...we`ll have to wait for the rns that states they`ve reached total depth of 2500m....I don`t believe this is lost. ps...the Canadian will testify to the fact that this is definitely over sold.......the LSE market has deliberately dropped the the price to such a point that it prevents the 100mda crossing the 200mda...the Canadians will force them to retract. | htrocka
11/6/2008 15:51 | Bear in mind they are producing oil and getting some cash in at a decent price per barrel now from previous drills, even though they had a lot of technical difficulties en route. I believe the re-rating was as much about the increased cash flow from existing production and confirmation of the successful fund raising (which gives some security for the current season's drill prog) as it was about speculating on a drill success at #703. There's plenty of oil around in their licence area. They'll strike a good 'un before long. | drewz
11/6/2008 15:35 | Rupe They got their selling out of the way earlier I think! | cleo1601
11/6/2008 15:16 | Seems to holding very steady over in Canada. Amazing. It's usually such a jumpy market. Hopefully they think there's something worth hanging on for. Like some farm-in news, or the next well. | rupe1958
11/6/2008 12:19 | 8trader - indeed, if you have the discipline to leave it at £500 and to sell to reap the profits. My discipline is not that great..... | unionhall
11/6/2008 12:08 | unionhall. Probably a load of punters who like to stick £500 into every tiny oil and exploration company and let them ride. Would have been a very profitable way to make money if you banked a profit each time one of them quadrupled with the likes of Eel, Eo. etc etc and just wait patiently one by one for each to do this. Even if a few fail the rewards will outstrip the losses. | 8trader
11/6/2008 12:00 | Cleo - true, but as you say it moves it into the long(er) play category at a time when lots of small oilers are getting a rerating. Depends on one's timeframe. Yet it was sad news, more so given the rise in the last few weeks. | unionhall
11/6/2008 11:57 | at least we know they have the money for drilling now, which derisks it in my mind. We'll eventually find commercial oil, just as we've all given up I suspect! I added today as they are ISAable. Sad news though. | cleo1601
11/6/2008 11:40 | I like to have a nibble in all oil stocks that tumble too far on one disappointment Cheers 8trader - I agree with your comment above - but only if it is a small dissappontment which masks a much greater upside. My take is that this is not the case here. Good luck with your investments.... | unionhall
11/6/2008 11:37 | unionhall. Fair enough, these 4 mm's are well jittery here, they move and down wildy on any trade, i would certainly keep the bets small here as it is high risk stuff. | 8trader
11/6/2008 11:35 | 8 trader - that is a fairly optimistic view I think. The market just retraced to above where it was before 703 excitement built up. After this failure there will be no such excitement for the next well and failure there would mean a long slide for the summer (imho). | unionhall
11/6/2008 10:58 | The market makers just "tried" it on when they marked down to 12-15p, they were hoping some holders would panic and sell extremely cheaply but nobody did, in fact around 90% of the volume is buys. I like to have a nibble in all oil stocks that tumble too far on one disappointment, same happened with MTA and within weeks it jumped when they had good news somewhere else. High risk so dyor. | 8trader
11/6/2008 10:47 | This part of the statement is interesting:- 'The Company remains highly confident on its remaining post-salt prospects and their prospectivity is not affected by the results of Baktygaryn 703' I think these should recover nicely in due course. Lots of drilling planned. | water30
11/6/2008 09:11 | just bought 5k @15p was quoted 17p for 10k | sali2
11/6/2008 08:54 | POST 557.....Oh Dear!!!!!!! | regandjess
11/6/2008 08:47 | Sell 37,500 shares at 13.1p....buy 375 shares at 15p. That alone should mean a sharp bounce, mm's hoping for panic sellers but wont offer stock at this price. | 8trader
11/6/2008 08:44 | htrocka - 10 Jun'08 - 21:40 - 557 of 560 graphs don`t lie.......this IS going North. I think not..! Be lucky to all & hope it turns around for all holders. | chesty1
11/6/2008 08:27 | Bit harsh of a fall on that news, other stocks dont drop this much on that. Should recover a bit during the day when gamblers take a punt. | 8trader |
