Robin of Loxley....could you be kind enough to do me a favour,ie...incorporate the 25,50 and 200 daily moving averages in a long term graph..... I`m sure that the spikes of late must have `flattened out` the 200 dma.....and would give a positive signal as to when to get back in again....thanks in advance."

htrocka,

no problem, its in the bottom of the top box (ie the one with all the graphs in)

regards,

just had a quick look at the `triple moving average` chart...a rising 45 dma graph line has just gone through a changing 100dma line. The last time the 45 was above the 100dma was when CEK rose from 95p to £1.75.....however the key is the 15 dma, it`s got to rise through both the 45 and 100 dma`s...that`s the `buy` signal.....it certainly looks like 2008 will be the year to me....and CEK.

ps...this could be one of the reasons why the farm-ins are taking such a long time to be announced.

I couldn`t help but notice that Nelson Resources was actually controled by Khazak investors...on a par with ARAL/CEK`s present set up and at the end of the day cast the final vote in deciding to sell to Lukoil...I wonder if the spike last August might have been ARAL retaining their grip on CEK?

ps..with Summers now CEO of CEK as well as President of the Khazak entity ARAL, CEK`s major shareholder,....my bet is that Lukoil will be the new farm-in partners......but at what price?. It was CNPC`s pre-emptive right to take control of the Buzachi field in which Nelson held a 50% interest that promted the Nelson khazak Investors to push for a Lukoil `take over`.....hence it will be interesting to know who the CEK farm-in partners will be....Summers could use the CNPC lever in negotiations with Lukoil.

htrocka - it was same line of research and thinking that led me to buy into CEK - ie that W Ramsey developed oiler-next-door Nelson Resources then sold it to Lukoil for a fortune, and the same thing might happen at with CEK at North Block.

I think the problem for CEK, as for other small oil co.s is the huge cost of drilling deep holes leaves very little room for mistakes or bad luck. And they've had quite a bit of both.

Seems to me the Ramsey/Summers strategy at the moment is to try to conserve cash and therefore stay in business. So it's not impossible, I think, that they've delayed the Baktigarin drill programme for a few months in the hope that a farm-in partner will come along and pay for it.

They seem to be taking a heck of a long time getting mobilised to drill a few shallow wells.

a bit more research...

The Caspian region's reserves account for 5% of the world's total but remain largely undeveloped. Caspian recently took a 50% interest in the North Block, an exploration zone next to Nelson's 360-m-barrel Alibekmola field.

as `newbee` to this share I thought I`d take a closer look at it.....and found a couple of interesting points...namely that Summers, who was appointed CEO in May last year is also President of ARAL.....which tends to indicate that any new farm-ins will be a joint venture between ARAL, CEK and a third party?. CEK`s `North Block` is adjacent to NELSON`s field....which Ramsey,CEK chairman and ex CEO of Nelson, has full knowledge of it`s potential. When Lukeoil took over NELSON.... Ramsey was made a multi millionare, inference would suggest that LukeOil, the `NorthBlock` neighbours would be the obvious choice as farm-in partners.....especially if CEK`s NorthBlock intrudes/infinges the same reseviour as drilled by Lukoil in the adjacent block.....If history repeats it`self, then Ramsey`s `motis operendi` is to build up the company....and sell it on......keep an eye on `holdings in company` rns`s. ....and to be honest..the biggest shareholder in CEK is ARAL it`self...hmmm.

Still no news of Batigaryn drills. Not even of spudding. I suppose this means they haven't yet started the shallow well programme.
Perhaps the drilling plans are on hold while they try to find a farm-in partner, as per the last RNS.
Does anyone know what's going on here?

So just a quick message to let you all know that there is now another CEK thread that is ROL filterable.

Cleo would appreciate anyone copy posts over to the new thread.

Whatever you decide to do - good luck with CEK.
