the Canadians like the rns...up 14%.(and this with the DOW down 233 points)..my personal comment, somehow Summers has managed to talk the Kazhak government into a further two year extension to the original programme......If any one can pull this off I`m sure the ex Nelson boss, obviously known to all concerned in the industry and has the power to pull strings.....can do this....He`s done it with Nelson,Chaparel.....and Lukeoil (all in Kazhastan) and is well respected in that part of the world....He`s got two years to get this back to 175p............or bust.

Yes Rupe. However, the Baktigarin programme was scheduled to start in Nov I think, so just about on schedule?

Cleo - it always surprises me how much this company manages to lose each quarter, Despite having income of about C$2m in Q3, they have lost about the same. The costs just seems enormous. FOr how much longer can they go on racking up these quarterly losses without a dilution?
I thought the Baktigarin shallow drilling was ongoing from early October. But they about to start on that now, if I've read this correctly.
But I still think there's a reasonable chance of getting our money back, if they can just have a nice run of good luck.

I`m not a rocket scientist but..Nelson Resources and Caspian Energy both had the same `boss`...ie Mr. Summers....Summers oversaw and approved the drilling campaign for Nelson in the Alibekmola field...which produces 11,000 bod. Caspian Energy Inc..now has the ex Nelson boss ...and CEK`s licence covers part of the Alibekmola field.....this MUST be the same reservoir....so why are we not drilling adjacent to Nelsons field?...ie,... in our own field and pumping 11,000 bod...?hmmmmmmm.


Summers has now become a neighbor to his own `old` field.?....I don`t believe what I`m reading....

.Caspian will be focused on oil and gas exploration in Kazakhstan where it has a
number of targets in the highly prospective Aktobe Oblast of Western Kazakhstan.
The Company indirectly holds a 50 per cent interest in Aral Petroleum Capital
LLP ("Aral"), through which it will have the right to explore and develop
certain oil and gas properties known as the North Block, a 2,348 sq km area,
located in the vicinity of the Kazakh pre-Caspian basin. The North Block lies
immediately adjacent to various producing fields, including the Alibekmola,
south Alibek, Zhanazhol and Kenkiyak fields.

(the Zhanazhol and Kenkiyak fields are the largest in the Aktobe)


The bottom line is that CEK are sitting on some very good fields....but..Summers has got to make some good executive decisions.

seemed to be recovering a bit at the end on the TSE tonight. Not that the daily movements signify much for me at this point as I'll stick it out. Anyone know when we should hear the results of the first shallow drill? I'm hoping for sometime next month but don't really know, or have forgotten if I ever did...

I'll be very disappointed, not to say amazed and distraught if they don't have decent success with these shallow drills, Stuart, say 3 out of 5 - 60% hit rate seems to be about par for the course for shallow Caspian targets.

Maybe another 1000 to 1500bopd by the end of 2008.

cleo...I`m curious to know if the sells in Canada get mopped up?...maybe not today or tomorrow...but friday?..at the moment, just small PI`s selling. (£70k worth of shares sold...knocks £2.62m off the company valuation)

Oh well, back to sleep for another few weeks or months (or years) - or is it being engineered to look like that?

Can't understand why the management didn't simply say "We have been grossly undervalued and oversold for yonks in view of our assets and the likelihood of a juicy farm-in quite soon and are pleased to note the market seems to be aware of that" ?

Not invested here but noticed that the UK share price at 30 - 31p is well out of line - for anyone thinking of buying you can get them for 26p in Canada right now

If CEK sold some of their shares (that huge trade) then presumably the buyer did not need to notify them, so perhaps this is why there's been no RNS? Announcements relate to companies being informed of trading in their shares by third parties so perhaps there's no need for companies themselves to inform the market? I simply do not know and have never thought of this before! Keep digging?

Good luck with your purchase seagreen. I'm waiting for 3 quid myself... been a bit of a wait so far but there's no particular rush.
