Looking good all round now as long as there the virus doesn't have something even more unpleasant waiting to hit us with that will throw a spanner in the works.

This makes an interesting read

Origin of Covid — Following the Clues
Did people or nature open Pandora’s box at Wuhan?

The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted lives the world over for more than a year. Its death toll will soon reach three million people. Yet the origin of pandemic remains uncertain: the political agendas of governments and scientists have generated thick clouds of obfuscation, which the mainstream press seems helpless to dispel.

Carnival will recover in my opinion people still want to cruise and will continue to.

Vaccines work and I'm confident they will improve them so cruising wont be effected in the long term.

CDC in US have delivered a verdict stating Cruising is LESS risky than other forms of travel...Based on idea that is a contained unit and after checks have been made less outside influence than with other forms. Trials approved

Loss in Q1 was actually around $1Bn if you take out the $500M for depreciation.
With cruises resuming in Europe and US shortly they should be able to at least break even in Q3?

Real world evidence - vaccines work against Indian variant also

The Pfizer vaccine was found to be 88% effective at stopping symptomatic disease from the Indian variant two weeks after the second dose, compared with 93% effectiveness against the Kent variant.

The AstraZeneca jab was 60% effective against the Indian variant, compared with 66% against the Kent variant.

Cases plummeting in US and Europe

Those 5000 pax boats sailing from the UK are limited to 1000 pax atm. A great time to take a less crowded cruise. The wearing of masks some of the time is the only thing stopping me booking a near term one.

CDC have relaxed some requirements re: mask wearing.
US cases continue to plummet. 60% US adults now vaccinated; 70% in UK.

Vaccines do work against Indian variant - Oxford study
A landmark Oxford University study has confirmed current coronavirus vaccines work well against the Indian variant, raising hopes Britain can avoid a new wave of deaths.

Early findings from the urgent laboratory study into the B.1.617.2 strain show there is only a small loss of protection from the vaccines’ effect.

AstraZeneca and Pfizer doses still create enough antibodies to neutralise the highly contagious Indian strain and significantly diminish the risk of hospitalisation and death.

More scaremongering then by the media and Boris. Cases remain super low around 1500-2000 and deaths in single figures. Hospitalisations not rising either. Live with the virus - time to move on.

Two Carnival Cruise lines ships berthed in the Port of Galveston in Texas on Sunday for the first time in more than a year, as the industry looks to restart after being devastated by the Covid pandemic.

The Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista arrived around midday with scores of locals lining the docks to welcome them back to port.

The ships were last in port in April 2020, when the pandemic brought cruises to a halt worldwide.
