Novavax today published positive data from the UK phase 3 study of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate, showing it to be 89.3% effective in preventing coronavirus in participants.
UK has secured 60 million doses, with manufacturing set to take place on Teesside

p5tvr - i would argue that the moment lockdown is lifted - there will be huge enthusiasm to cruise amongst older folk in particular - in much the same vein as a lot of the young want to get back to the pub. In my experience many senior citizens are predisposed to pessimism, and are probably happy to take the risk and try to have some much needed and well deserved fun. It's always tough to correctly predict the price low point, - but i would only hope we are there or thereabouts. That is - in the absence of a cash call....on which i have no idea - and on which would much welcome posters' views ? Thanks vm in advance...!

I am new to investing and smartly or stupidly i have invested quite a bit into carnival at £12ish a share. Have i made a good or bad decesion? Feedback appreciated.

Come April we could see herd immunity in the US

75% over 80's have now had at least one vaccine dose.
Account for 54% Covid deaths.
Should see a substantial improvement in the next week or so.
400,000 vaccines a day now also far exceeding the 2M/week target

Big improvement in case count across Europe and UK (has almost halved from the high of 62K to 33K now). Lockdown impact but also vaccinations starting to have a positive effect; half of over 80's in UK have had at least one dose.
