18/9/2009 15:06 | Typo, that's just an index adjustment, I can't see why you seem to think it's important. A small number of tracker funds may up their stakes, but those same funds will no doubt have subscribed under the open offer. They may need to take on a few more shares to adjust for the placings but I can't imagine we're talking of a mass buying spree. And besides, fund have plenty of time to buy in after any adjustment. IFL has been promoted to the FTSE 250, yet the shares are down even though the market has been riding high. | davius

18/9/2009 13:27 | Davius, the admission date to the LSE may have been 10 September. The LSE admission date is often not the same as the admission date for FTSE index calculations. (I've noticed some people on ADVFN think LSE and FTSE are one and the same) It's the FTSE admission date which is used by tracker funds, not the date the shares are admitted for trading. Read the link I posted above: | typo56
18/9/2009 13:21 | The market cap is already based on 350.6m typo, the admission date was 10th September. 38.75-39.25p. Good stuff. | davius

18/9/2009 12:44 | Sorry, I'm a bit slow. Can you spell it out? FTSE increases shares in issue on 21 Sept. I think that currently indices will be based on about 71m shares in issue. From Monday 351m. Ah, okay, was it confusing that I mixed my tenses? | typo56
18/9/2009 12:38 | Was that a typo, typo? One theory I had was that shares in issue used by FTSE increased from 71m to 350m on Monday. | davius
18/9/2009 12:35 | One theory I had was that shares in issue used by FTSE increases from 71m to 351m on Monday. I think that means SmallCap & Allshare tracker funds need to increase their holdings by a factor of five. | typo56
