The claim against Burford as reported doesn't seem to make sense to me. As I understand it Ruperti is suing Novoship over breach of a 2016 settlement agreement, which has nothing to do with Burford, except that Burford is trying to help Novoship defend this case. Separately, Ruperti seems to have an issue with Novoship for having disclosed documents about him to Burford which Burford then released to someone else. But even assuming Burford shouldn't have released the documents to someone else (which Burford dispute as they say the documents they released were already public) that should at most make Burford liable to indemnify Novoship for any claims against them for causing the documents to be released - it wouldn't make Burford liable for the main claim against Novoship of breach of the settlement, which was the claim for up to $91m. You can't make Burford liable for Novoship's breach of an agreement - where is the logic here? Am I missing something?
