04/7/2019 12:21 | Not sure if that is true. It's perfectly possible to drink moderately without affecting your health (unlike smoking), and the impacts of 'passive drinking' are also much lower than passive smoking. | stepone68
04/7/2019 07:24 | Buywell: not sure why the ethical considerations are not affecting the spirits and beer industry. It looks to me they as much if not more damage to kids and adults alike | acsatix
02/7/2019 10:03 | @Buywell. Japan about 20 years behind the rest of the world on the banning smoking in offices front. I recall when it first came in - much time wasted get in lift, going downstairs, smoke n chat, then lift back up. Productivity must've collapsed. | crossing_the_rubicon
02/7/2019 08:26 | Japan news today ... New law takes effect, banning smoking in gov't buildings, schools 2nd July 2019 | buywell2
02/7/2019 08:15 | SP weakness continues The USA has realized that vaping is just another way of getting kids and others addicted to nicotine Tar like residues from this sticks to the inside lining of your lungs Children's lungs are still growing and in development, the use of such products is going to cause impaired lung development and function as well as cancer and cardio issues. buywell thinks investing in companies that design and make such products is unethical. buywell hopes another USA city will follow San Francisco's lead within a month, a city that sees children as it's future. | buywell2

01/7/2019 10:44 | "A 92% tax on e-cigarettes: It's happening Monday in Vermont" That's good news, e-cigs being more expensive will make it less convenient for people to switch from traditional cigarettes where IMB and BATS make most of their profits. Biggest losers in this will be pure play vape brands like Juul. | gabsterx
01/7/2019 08:21 | Bought in 4th quarter last year looking for a healthy recovery back up to 3500 plus it hasn't come, ive picked ups a few divs but have sold today for a small loss Good luck to all | gutterhead

29/6/2019 07:24 | buywell wonders when Institutional Fund Managers will begin to shy away from companies that supply nicotine substances that schoolchildren are getting addicted to. Why for example are such vaping flavors named like bubblegum, caramel, peardrops, cola cubes etc Vape products that 50% of schoolkids in the USA are getting hooked on BATS make several named brands of vaping e-cigarettes these are some of their flavors : Scarlet Kick Peach Swirl Strawberry Smash Vanilla Peach Honeydew Splash Dark Cherry Fresh Apple Infused Vanilla Wild Berries Indigo Dive Green Snap Berry Crema Nectar Melon Mint Menthol Chai I personally find the whole thing regarding schoolkids as very upsetting. As well as a public health problem from breathing in the exhaled vape by these walking steam engines. The FDA will have to act soon after San Francisco bans e-cigs Another USA city will follow within the next 2 months IMO and also ban them Then more will follow Vaping is steadily being regulated across the US. Some state and regional governments in the US had extended their indoor smoking bans to include e-cigarettes. As of April 2017, 12 US states and 615 localities had prohibited the use of e-cigarettes in venues in which traditional cigarette smoking was prohibited. High schools and some middle schools throughout the US have been revising their tobacco rules to ban vaping on school grounds. A review of regulations in 40 US states found that how a law defines e-cigarettes is critical, with some definitions allowing e-cigarettes to avoid smoke-free laws, taxation, and restrictions on sales and marketing. The tobacco industry heavily lobbies states to make it harder to regulate and tax e-cigarettes. Clearly much more needs to be done ... congrats to San Francisco Shame on all the rest Last year there was a 78% increase in the use of e-cigarettes by USA secondary school students but the FDA still do nothing as more and more kids get hooked on the nicotine high. | buywell3

27/6/2019 11:07 | They said tobacco can cause cause physical symptoms like headaches or breathlessness as well as making people feel irritable, anxious or low. These feelings can alter our behavior and feeling stressed often makes people drink alcohol more than usual. Long term stress is also related to anxiety and depression. Turn out this applies to both the product and the stock :) | gabsterx
27/6/2019 09:57 | No Pain no gain! :) | crossing_the_rubicon

24/6/2019 21:40 | p0pper, yes it is but I might wait for the price after ex-div as these tobaccos all pay quartlerly divis where we might see it dip a bit more first. My folio is mainly tobaaco, gold, silver and essential consumer goods. The tobaccos paying the massive dividends to fund everything else, the PMs balancing out the dips on the stocks to keep capital stable whilst income keeps flowing in. Also keeping cash high at about 25% of the folio as you'll need that when the great recession part 2 hits. The brokers tell you to buy energy and financials probably not the best idea when the next wave hits but who knows it's just a hunch for me. | creditcrunchies
24/6/2019 11:14 | couldn't agree more about a correction but I have been saying that for 6/9 months at least | p0pper |
