Could be a volatile day tomorrow; the trend looks bad, it's going down.Maybe we will get a positive surprise. I am long of these and don't anticipate any recovery back to 500/550p range.

Murray is your ear to the ground ?..... Labour is even pivoting from the 'green deal' 28 Billion commitment (which may impact BP's plan's). Please do a Shell.

I like dividends and buybacks. Let's keep both plus a dividend increase, probably + 4%

buybacks are a must with shares at this discount, would take higher buybacks than dividends at this price.

Interesting that Buffet’s position in Oxy has now surpassed his holding in Chevron. It makes me wonder why? I mean Oxy is a pure play on oil isn’t it? Buffet tends to think 30 years ahead so if that is the case I assume that he must be thinking along the lines that Oxy will be a 10 bagger by then. What exactly are his thoughts? If oil gets phased out of cars then that would presumably only leave a third left for oil products. Oxy claim that they can double their revenues by decarbonisation. So the doubling offsets the problem significantly. But how does Buffet arrive at ten times the Oxy value moving forwards?

"BP in a separate statement said it expects to recognise a pre-tax impairment charge of around $600 million in the fourth quarter 2023."....there goes your dividend increase....that's no small amount!

A peachy start this morning. Let's hope it lasts the day. Bank of America said profits would be down, which isn't rocket science, really, as it was calculated on the average oil price.

Shell are ahead of BP now on the longer term comparison charts but it's all swings and roundabouts as BP have a slightly higher yield. Not heard much about getting rid of those Russian interests recently, I presume they actually did it!

They have been saving millions of pounds by the share buyback program and cancellations. I'm sure we'll get a dividend rise. I would be very surprised, and so would other investors. The big question for me is. Will they carry on with the share buybacks come the next financial year?

5.25 cents times 4
5.46 cents times 4
6.006 cents times 2
6.61 cents times 2
7.27 cents times 3

Odds on for hold for the Q4 and then a raise..?
