This has been unloved since last reported and has been steady going down towards 4.50 so it was best avoid for now and stick with Shell being more popular with a long time view in my ISA.

The oil price seems a bit cheap now, unfortunately the physical market cannot beat the algosI will try to do some day trading. All my short positions were closed around 480-500p level. The share price is too low to risk opening new shorts. I am just showing losses in the long positions. Good luck everyone

Because the world doesn't run on Bristol rents. For 100 years the world has run on oil and it is a large input to production and manufacturing.

oil was $100 in 2004, so inflation adjusted isnt that oil worth like $15 now?

why is everything else allowed to go up but oil? what about building and construction costs for the industry? we cant have oil at $40 surely?

Bristol rents are up 60% 8 years.. yet nothing is said.

Not one of your better posts that hells. Quite a bits happened since then. IAG was above £6 and its now around 150 and has been ever since and pays no divi and its not on its own. JDW £17 to £7 - no divi. Its best to keep perspective. Who knows where a buyback has led. How do you judge? If its avoided a further windfall tax it could have been significant. Its certainly frustrating though. OPEC is rooting for us !
