13/8/2014 10:34 | I see we have the Old and probably Contemptibles reminiscing about the days when they were up to their armpits in muck and bullets. Running around the countryside frightening the livestock not to mention the natives. As for "living in holes in the ground". Typical Welsh, anything to avoid the council tax. Pleased to read the junior hound is giving Penycae a workout, I expect he is in need of it. | ![]() bracke
13/8/2014 10:03 | Morning all! Spent a lot of time on the Beacons in another life, most of it living in holes in the ground. There was a pub up there called the Usk and Railway which never closed. You could get a drink in there anytime of night, even if you were carrying all sorts of weaponry. Old lady there used to play a very mean piano. Bookies tried to mug me this morning on ADM. Had a silly stop on, so still in play. Results OK, divi exceptional. Just a Welsh thing, I suppose. Holding long here from yesterday. Short ARM until it's a long again. New hound finding his feet. Bit lively this one. Trade well and prosper Earthlings....... | ![]() penycae
12/8/2014 19:17 | ...and so is the bacon butty stall on the foothills of the Breacons (gawd I hope they are in Wales) must confess never done any training on the Breakons....what ever the hill, Peny seems very familiar with them... | ![]() optomistic
12/8/2014 17:01 | Penycae would have us believe that numerous major companies are based in Wales, complete tosh of course. However on this occasion he is correct. Admiral head office is in Cardiff | ![]() bracke

12/8/2014 16:28 | Bought the dip at 468. Also bought a few ADM for tomorrow - Welsh y'know. Trade well and prosper Earthlings. | ![]() penycae
12/8/2014 13:01 | Need this area to hold other 450's look very likely with the continuing lower highs, lower lows. Russia Ukraine situation continuing to be volatile and increasing the probability of further sanctions having the knock on uncertainly of things impacting BP. Time to be on the sidelines and jump on board when things improve. | ![]() 2ngh
12/8/2014 09:30 | Morning all. Looking stronger here today. Just sold out of PRU, so looking for a home for the rent money.Might buy in here again if it dips, but monkey still not sure. | ![]() penycae
11/8/2014 12:25 | It thas story turs out to be Cameron should resign immediately. It looks a but like a hoax to me but you never know. | ![]() johnmfrancis
11/8/2014 11:30 | Looks like the whole Ukraine situation is being manipulated and the false flag downing of MH17 was NOT by Russia but by Ukraine / EU / US hands. Dear oh dear the MSM spread whatever BS is convenient to engineer trhe desired outcome it seems A damning report dated Aug 3, headlined "Flight 17 Shoot-Down Scenario Shifts", Associated Press reporter Robert Parry said "some US intelligence sources had concluded that the rebels and Russia were likely not at fault and that it appears Ukrainian government forces were to blame". Perhaps this whole nonsense scenario can be put to bed now and sanctions and war drums put back in their closets. | mbthedude
11/8/2014 09:33 | Morning all. Just closed last week's long for a couple of points. Now looking to re-enter on the dip. Monkey doesn't like the look of the shorter time frames today, although the daily looks secure. Might have been the wrong move, but made the rent on EZJ over the weekend. Out of EZJ now into PRU. Trade well and prosper Earthlings...... | ![]() penycae
08/8/2014 22:36 | Who exactly internationally are BPs better friends ? USA or Russia ? In my opinion the treatment of BP by USA over the whole Maconda Well incident has been utterly appalling from start to its likely never ending finish. A never ending license for Shark lawyers and very dishonest American business owners to claim multi multi thousands of dollars they were never entitled to. Of course it was right and proper to compensate those businesses and people whose livlihoods were badly affected but its pretty common knowledge there was an awful lot of fraud there that the USA authorities have done very little to clamp down on. How I wonder would the Usa have reacted if it had been Exxon or maybe Chevron ? It wasn't even BPs rig it was Transocean's !!! BP behaved perfectly honourably from the start of this incident with next to no support from our pathetically weak government. How many other companies in the world would have had the capacity, technical know how, decency and honesty to hehave that way. BP have a strategic stake in Rosneft and I am sure over the years to come it will prove a wise long term investment provided our foolish politicians don't mess it up. I have a relatively small stake in BP by most peoples standards but its a stake I am happy to hold and add to occasionally and keep well into my retirement. Its not perfecet but I believer it be one of the best Companys in the world to be invested in long term, | ![]() johnmfrancis
08/8/2014 22:32 | Thats me in earlier today at 465. Stop loss set incase of further drops. If this area falls i think I am right in thinking 450. I hope nothing too bad kicks off over the weekend with mr p! Have a good weekend everybody. | ![]() supermarky
08/8/2014 17:50 | As been said many times, the lower the BP share price the more BP can purchase to cancel them. And Div re-invest is better, only if you have to sell, or the share price never recovers is there a problem. To think on 24th June they had to pay 527p/ share to buy to cancel BP p.l.c. announces that it has purchased for cancellation the following number of ordinary shares of US$0.25 each: Ordinary shares Date of purchase 07 August 2014 -------------------- Number of ordinary shares purchased 3,130,000 -------------------- Highest price paid per share (pence) 476.50 -------------------- Lowest price paid per share (pence) 468.45 -------------------- | ![]() robertfaulkner
08/8/2014 15:30 | EI Obama & Co know that whatever sanctions they impose Vlad will reciprocate, so there is no point in continuing to ratchet it up. Vlad turning the gas off does no one any good. Unfortunately BP have a number of negatives stacked against them which are likely to be unresolved for some time. | ![]() bracke
08/8/2014 15:20 | brake, I would have thought Putin is more likely to be supportive to the companies that are loyal, but I may be misreading this. The UK is far from energy sufficient, so I would hope that any further sanctions, if this happens, will reflect this reality. Current sentiment on BP is utterly dire, usually a sign that a buying opportunity is near - if wider markets continue to melt down then all bets are off. | ![]() essentialinvestor
08/8/2014 15:15 | EI That was my thought as well. Provided Obama & Co do not impose further sanctions it should be ok but if not......... | ![]() bracke
08/8/2014 15:09 | It's a possibility but BP is one of the largest single investors in Russia, 20 years operating in the Country, unlikely that Putin will punish BP, but that's just my best guess. | ![]() essentialinvestor
08/8/2014 11:05 | Good morning Penycae I've been pondering a small purchase myself. If it fails to put the brakes on at 463/464, 450 looks likely. The elephant in the room is Vlad. If he decides to sanction more than apples and pears will BP be on his list. You never know with Vlad. | ![]() bracke
08/8/2014 10:44 | Morning bracke. Just bought some at 466.12. Half my normal trading size. I'll add the other half if it still drifts lower, or if it breaks to the upside over 470. No sign of any let up on this general sell off. I'll be looking at some dollar longs if it continues. When the DAX settles, that should also be a good punt to the upside on a larjwun, but you'd need stops of about 200 to cover the swings. A lot of the volatility appears to be coming from the bookies chasing stops on their open. | ![]() penycae
08/8/2014 10:33 | Penycae Nearly at 463. You buying or are you thinking lower? | ![]() bracke
