portside1: the Africans call them "white saviours". Comic Relief has just said they will stop sending westerners to make films.

You can understand it. White people turning up to paint villages with endless coats of paint on their "discovery" holidays.

They must laugh their heads off.

Manics, I can offer at least a partial answer,
my other half works in healthcare and a number of friends
work in hospital settings.

Putting deaths to one side, the major issue COVID causes is the
numbers who end up in hospital- many of whom will recover.

This is a primary differentiator between Covid-19 and say seasonal
influenza or pneumonia.

A good % of COVID patients end up in ICU and many more in the tier
below this which is HDU - High Dependacy Units.

These wards are more labour intesive than many other sugical
and non surgical wards.

We went in to this pandamic with approx 30,000 nursing shortages in the UK.

The above link gives a good insight in to what is happening.

In the UK we are a rich nation, with billions in infrastructure enabling WFH and lockdown. Now let's go to Bangladesh, where you can't lockdown because if you don't go out and collect $3 worth of plastic bottles you will starve. There are no benefits or furlough or NHS. Let's go to Sudan. Let's go to Syria.Where are the death camps? Where are the JCB's burying bodies by the thousands? Where are the riots, fighting over whatever medical supplies are left? There aren't any, because Covid isn't serious enough to warrant it.So why are we giving up our way of life, pretending that it is?

portside1: I can have exposure to BARC without holding shares, and I can profit as it slides.I care because of my morals. I care because of the community. I care because investors should be better informed and I can play a small part in that.I care for the people who get up each morning to give up their professional lives for this court proven criminal entity. I care about fraud and criminality. I care about what's right and wrong. Most here just want to take, take, take. I give back.
