The MoD say that the agreement also sets out a framework to enable both nations to utilise the T26 and Hunter programmes to create jobs and contribute to the growth of the UK and Australian economies, seeking to support small and medium-sized enterprises.

Looks quite a capable ship....

UK in ‘race with adversaries for technological advantage’

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has unveiled a new Science and Technology Strategy for the UK.

The strategy was launched with Chief Scientific Adviser, Professor Dame Angela McLean, against a backdrop of futuristic autonomous military kit, from UAVs that can fit in the palm of a hand to crewless all-terrain surveillance vehicles commanded remotely from a Challenger II tank and the new AJAX vehicle demonstrating ‘human machine teaming’ with an unmanned all terrain buggy.

Time will tell, RW, time will tell. Good luck with your investments. And by the way, in terms of guaranteeing future success size doesn't matter its what you do with it that counts.

Burnchat. A bit of research will show when RR engines are used and when they are not and why not. Common supply chain? About the same as JLR and any other large manufacturing industry. By the way its BA.

Relax guys, i'm sure RR will be just fine as will BA. short term. Its about the long game. RW BA. products tend to need engines, also common supply chains.

How do you link BA. with RR, both are huge, cutting edge industries who have no reliance on each other.

What a load of baloney, Ba. is a global defence company doing very well in the business of cyber security, for one. Builds warships in the northern hemisphere, and the the Southern, so I do not know what new markets you are talking about, and has a very healthy order book.

If RR goes down so does BA. Both industries about to pay the price of lack of investment in new markets and new products. its a sell IMHO. Great short.

shalder in a word, no. I have no ability to sway the US elections because I am not American. Politics and therefore budget allocation is a matter for the nation invoved. Irrespective of what political party gets elected to power, that party will set out what should be spent on what. Although America has a two party system they both think they are the saviour of the west, not everyone agrees! I would suspect BAE will still capture a significant % of whatever budget is set.

RW:
Just wondering if you have any thought re the potential impact on BA. of a Biden Presidency + possible Democrat gains in the Senate? I have noted comments from the US that this might impact the defence budget going forward.
