15/10/2020 22:35 | If RR goes down so does BA. Both industries about to pay the price of lack of investment in new markets and new products. its a sell IMHO. Great short. | burnchat

15/10/2020 07:52 | shalder in a word, no. I have no ability to sway the US elections because I am not American. Politics and therefore budget allocation is a matter for the nation invoved. Irrespective of what political party gets elected to power, that party will set out what should be spent on what. Although America has a two party system they both think they are the saviour of the west, not everyone agrees! I would suspect BAE will still capture a significant % of whatever budget is set. | ribblewader
14/10/2020 19:56 | RW: Just wondering if you have any thought re the potential impact on BA. of a Biden Presidency + possible Democrat gains in the Senate? I have noted comments from the US that this might impact the defence budget going forward. | shalder

12/10/2020 10:37 | There seems as much logic in BAe buying RR as there is in BAe buying a steel manufacturer or a semiconductor factory. | wad collector
12/10/2020 08:54 | Agreed bookbroker. Take what you want and leave the rest | dope007
12/10/2020 08:10 | Ba. /RR. merger a shocking idea, only reason they should attempt to buy part of RR. is if it is broken up. | bookbroker
11/10/2020 20:35 | I cant weigh it up. | burnchat

10/10/2020 15:49 | I agree with Polka. BAE - RR merge not a great idea. I think it might also be counter productive..... | ribblewader
10/10/2020 14:23 | "Rolls is mired in debt, and worth very little." RR - Fwd Rev £11bn. Fwd MCap £4.3bn. Fwd EBITDA £1.2bn | poikka
10/10/2020 13:32 | If BAE did that I'd be selling my BAE shares. Rolls is mired in debt, and worth very little. BAE should get it for free and definately not a merger that dilutes BAE holders | dope007
10/10/2020 11:05 | It looks as if RR will survive independently, so, hopefully, it won't need to be rescued. Other than that, it really is a question that only those with far greater knowledge of both companies and their prospects than IC readers have could possibly answer. Regarding any effect on the price, I doubt that it would improve BA's share price as I'd say that they have enough on their plates already, and any merger might throw up the unexpected. Best I can say. | poikka
10/10/2020 10:46 | IC magazine mentions whether BAE would come to the rescue of RR by way of merger? Any views.. what would that do to the price? | carpingtris
