07/7/2004 16:07 | and one step in the wrong direction for Biswell! | ![]() wolstencroft
07/7/2004 14:59 | Wow, POG above $400. That's one small step for gold, one giant step expected for Avocet! | ![]() giant steps
07/7/2004 14:20 | whoosh POG through $400 again. I really could not understand the logic of yesterday's fall, seemed a complete anomoly to me. POG above $400 sets the best possible scene for AVM results....... | mieke
07/7/2004 14:16 | Tasty rise in pog today - now touching $400 ! | ![]() chipperfrd
07/7/2004 12:41 | Bis, if you can't see negative real interest rates are going to be with us for at least the next 5 years, I'd give the game up if I was you. Throw money at the stock market, believe me it won't go down. Throw money at Gold, at least you shouldn't lose money in real terms. Do not short equities and do not short gold. There is limitless funny money for everyone if you play it right! JJ. | jeddah jo
07/7/2004 08:57 | POG bounces back who would have thought it? W | ![]() wolstencroft
06/7/2004 20:46 | By the sounds of it, YOU ! | ![]() goml
06/7/2004 17:43 | It makes one think that it is not just the FED that will cause POG to fall. Who else might stand to gain? Who would lose if POG should ever be allowed to rise too much? B | ![]() biswell
06/7/2004 16:44 | Yes, how dare it try and break above $400 again and call into question the efficacy of US economic policy. The cheek of it! | ![]() goml
06/7/2004 16:41 | POG gets a kick in the goolies who would have thought it? B | ![]() biswell
06/7/2004 09:07 | Volumes The volume seen during a move can be critical. The recent down days have been on very low volume while the up days have tended to be on a higher volume. DYOR (but you will find that most technical guys would see this as bullish). | gammabod
05/7/2004 21:00 | umm stno thanks but thats from April.......... | mieke
05/7/2004 20:13 | In the news but I think the numbers are wrong unfortunately | stno
05/7/2004 19:44 | HT - I am not a long term holder. I was, and accumulated shares all through 2002 and 2003, but I sold out earlier this year, Jan/Feb, when I became concerned that POG was no longer a one way bet because the Feds policy on cheap money was coming to a close, and because the first 6 month of the year is traditionally not kind to goldminers (as indeed it turned out) I have however been accumulating again in the last 3 weeks as I now believe a)interest rate rises in the US are going to be less harmful to POG because the deficits are just getting out of control. I therefor see POG trading above $375 for the forseeable future, b) my own calculations show that these will be bumper results c) the company has already hinted that results will contain significant reserve upgrades and that the N.Lanut mine will be producing perhaps as much as 40% more gold than originally envisaged d)AVM has in the past been undervalued and will be even more startingly so once the results are in. So I am more than hopeful that the above will propel AVM out of its trading range to £1. Dont forget the new mine comes on line (in October?) so the price has to re-rate for all that loverly new gold. I believe the results will be followed by an upward re-rating; its up to you whether you choose to sell after what I reckon will be a substantial preresults lift..... | mieke
05/7/2004 19:29 | they are poss the t20's you were expecting....in which case price will lose most of it's gains post results....so what do you and i, as long term holders, do ? | holdontight
05/7/2004 19:05 | And another 100,000 at 63.75p published after the close. Someone mentioned they wanted to see volume increase, well it looks like its starting to.... | mieke
05/7/2004 16:43 | Hmmm 2 50K buys at the death make me think we will have another good day tomorrow....... T/O picking up now as well... Double hmm....Minmet mined 14,000oz of Gold in last 6 months and is valued at £33m AVM mines nearly 100,000oz every 6 months and is valued at £65m....surely shome mistake....... | mieke
05/7/2004 15:34 | mieke What is happening is that people are holding and hoping that the share price will overide TA and go up. On results days funny things happen.....It seems that good results= share slide and bad results = share up. I am not kidding either, folk are strange it is like some bad news that was not as bad as was expected is seen as s good thing, better than good news that was expected all the time and did not suprise when it arrived. You folk who hold have got to hope that you all do not go out the door on results day. B | ![]() biswell
05/7/2004 14:25 | The steady buying today says it all HT - folk know the results are only 13 trading days away, they know the results are going to be good, so....only one way from here IMO. You can chuck the technical indicators away for the next 2 weeks......unless of course someone wants to shout 'breakout' once they are past 66p...... :o) | mieke
05/7/2004 14:20 | maybe the most recent low still to be achieved 71p to 66p 67.5p to 58.5p 66.5p to 55.5p 65.5p to ????? | holdontight
05/7/2004 13:12 | I think if you wait for it to go through 66p you are merely cutting down on your potential gain - and you will note that the low that just came in was not a lower low..... | mieke
05/7/2004 12:59 | actually I agree with Bis - short term trend is down, with lower highs and lower lows. Need to break 65/66p to change this, st, and 72p to move higher again | holdontight
05/7/2004 12:52 | Hey Bis - care to comment on why the technical indicators are being over-ridden by the effect of the imminence of results? Note that effect down, it may come in useful again to you at some point in the future....... | mieke
05/7/2004 11:25 | Well I reckon thatlurch down was the final one before the results (and it was not as deep as previous ones have been), so it looks like accumulate time. POG doing very well and no obvious clouds on that horizon near term, so stil hopeful we will see 70p by results. With an eps of 6p plus for the year it would be bonkers if it didnt get up there! | mieke |
