19/6/2004 07:39 | On Friday AVM hit it's 8 day SMA and stopped, see chart(green line), let us see what happens next week when gold weakens once more. You will also see on the same chart that ALL SMA's are now pointing down, in fact the 8 day s.m.a is dropping faster than the last couple of times AVM retraced if you take a look, likewise the 16 day s..m.a(purple line) is also looking worse. That confirms my argument that AVM is in a firm down trend pattern, sorry. But I am open to alternative suggestions as always re trend direction, with a good explanation to back it up please. 18/6/2004 19:34 | Its my understanding that todays move in POG had more to do with the latest figures showing a continued expansion of the US deficit rather than inflation. Folk seem to have ignored the deficit, but its there and its getting worse. By now the weakness in the $ should have started to help the deficit but there is still no sign of that happening. Very bullish for POG; the Fed need a weak $ to help them get the deficit sorted out - I think the markets began to focus on that today. I can see POG through $400 next week, an excellent scenario to the lead up to results. By the way I am sticking my neck out that N.Lanut will produce 70,000 oz a year, not 50,000, and the company say that total cash costs will below $200. At POG of $375, correct me if I am wrong but wont that generate an extra 70,000x$175 cash (minimum). Which is $12.25m, or £7m extra cash coming into AVMs coffers. And that all comes on stream from around October? Doya think the market hasn't priced that in yet then? | mieke

18/6/2004 15:05 | Oho Just shorted POG at $395.88 best not be too greedy, missed the Nikkei yesterday cos I was. Also had a goodly bet on Denmark to win B | ![]() biswell
18/6/2004 14:12 | Biswell $525 is not 'my level' but the level quoted from the professional source in ohojim's posting. My point (obviously poorly made) is that their advice is contradictory ie to short at present levels when they predict $525 before year end. | jmobrien
18/6/2004 14:01 | biswell A goodly peace offering it was too. I see gold hit heavy selling at 395. Sharks gotta swim and bats gotta fly... | ![]() ohojim
18/6/2004 13:56 | gamma Look at the charts and TA on gold, it's all there. B | ![]() biswell
18/6/2004 13:48 | Biswell Quote There is no way Mr Obrien that gold will go to your level. This year or the next, I am sorry. Endquote Bis - with your track record - I think it's almost a racing certainty now. Seriously - you cannot say 'no way' anything - especially in this market. (For example 3 years ago - I would have said 'no way' could anyone fly 2 planes in to the WTC and 1 in to the pentagon). | gammabod
18/6/2004 13:45 | Now then about this singing, as you know Jim I have a penchant for the arts, music and dancing and the like. To ask me to stop singing would be like asking a skylark to stop flying, or a mynah bird to stop mining, can no do sorry, but still hope we can be at peace, least for now. Go on have a puff B | ![]() biswell
18/6/2004 13:40 | jmobrien There is no way Mr Obrien that gold will go to your level. This year or the next, I am sorry. You must put some hours in looking at POG analysis charts, (and that was my peace offering Oho because I have seen you posting somewhere i may be posting myself from time to time and you obviously have a soh, don't share it with any others please). Mr BBMuppet might recommend some that you could look at as he is a caring person. The reason one goes short on gold like about now is that one thinks it has risen too much and deserves a rest, you are correct with your Iraq violence, POG has had a kick up the @rse as a result, but these events tend to not last more than a day or two, so unless there is more violence tomorrow and more deaths and blood and guts spilt in the name of democracy, gold will fall once more and so will gold shares.
