Looking at the charts above 439 seems to be the 200 MDA and 460 is the 350 MDA.

Looks like we could soon hopefully be above the 200 MDA. (if you added the recent 20p dividend we are almost at the 350 !!!)

Positive times ahead.

Macro / sector factors feeding thru into sentiment then. As always, expect this to sustain medium / long term even if it's bumpy short term. Doesn't seem to be anything notable in the last day or two.

I think this. Politicians from UK and EU sides have folded and shown they aren't prepared for a no deal to happen. The bluffs been blown.

I'm not surprised by both Aviva and LGEN being on an upward trajectory because for the first time for years, trends in increasing life expectancy are reversing (pulled down by obesity, diabetes, women smoking), and that means the annuity business doesn't need the same levels of projected reserves and thus has the potential of becoming more profitable. Demographic "oil tankers" are slowly turning around.

Seems to be sector wide. LGEN have recently hit new highs too. LGEN looks as if it will soon hit £3 (although going ex div soon so might not just yet) and if AV. follows this same pattern then we will be back at a price above 4.50 soon.

Onwards and upwards.

Anyone know if anything in particular is behind the current rise?

I make that 446p equivalent so far with Thursday's dividend added. So much for the share price slumping post XD day! This could easily recover to £6 soon and still be well supported with a decent 5% divi. Add in the growth prospects and who knows how high this will reach in due course!!

Price is now back to my average of 425.39. If it remains that's £3,115.40 in tax free money from the dividend.

I'm in two minds whether to buy Aviva for my SIPP fund. On the one hand, GS put a conviction buy on the company, but on the other, the directors sell big around the same time...tricky to call this.

Also, company I work for moved from Capita to Aviva for the pension scheme, safe to say it's 10 times better (not that Capita would be a good benchmark but still)... good to see they are doing the right things.

I've got healthcare, motor, life & home insurance all with Aviva. I manage it all through the app & really impressed with the pricing & service (for what it's worth). Also, I got a renewal and it was under my current price (which was competitive at the time), normally it would have been higher. Hopefully they are learning that customers will just move if they don't keep competitive with the renewal.... Happy shareholder here.

Yes I’m comfortable invested here with solid business model, good Divi and cover. I topped up just before ex Divi and will go again at some point. The 20k annual isa is a great initiative to grow a strong retirement fund without tax. One of the few good things of being in U.K.

Very happy too,who would'nt be? Add on yesterday's 20.75p dividend and it's nigh-on at a six month high! This clearly has underlying strength. Bring on next week!
