07/3/2019 09:21 | Yes, Rock Star, but sterling is very weak, so we are forced to buy UK companies. | this_time_its_different
07/3/2019 09:19 | Just wondering if Brexit is delayed until June whether share price will get sold off or not? | ny boy
07/3/2019 09:11 | Phoenix had excellent results, nice boost in the share price, and now all that gain has evaporated in two days. The market is very distracted by Brexit it seems... | edmundshaw
07/3/2019 09:09 | Stewart, sites use basic EPS because it is easy and avoids having to engage the brain. using adjusted/operating earnings is usually a better metric, but you do have to apply some effort to check that those adjustments are reasonable (e.g. keeping an eye out for perennially recurring exceptionals which are not really exceptional, effect of business sales/buys, stuff shifted to the balance sheet and goodwill hanky-panky). | edmundshaw
07/3/2019 09:07 | How will a rising sterling affect insurers like Aviva? | this_time_its_different
07/3/2019 09:02 | If you trawl through results there are some little negatives here and there for sure, but overall results are solid. There are a lot of opportunities for the new CEO to improve the current business and move stronger into profitable areas like bulk annuities. Also various positives in demographics which should benefit the company. Looking forwards I see no reason not to be pretty positive. | edmundshaw
07/3/2019 09:01 | Dr Biotech the 58.4p is operating earnings per share, I am using basic earnings per share. The latter is the one that sites use in price to earnings. | stewart64
07/3/2019 08:58 | I can't see this going much lower, given the 7.1% yield. Other than if the risk free rate in the US were to rise again. | this_time_its_different
07/3/2019 08:56 | Crazy share price action but gives a cheaper entry price. | villarich
07/3/2019 08:48 | So, the final dividend is 20.75p, making 30p overall. Payable on 30/05/19. That's an increase of 9.5%. AV. still lagging the FTSE 100 by 15% though, so some catching up is required. | keyhole
07/3/2019 08:47 | PE 7.2 Yield 7.2%. Surely that’s cheap even in a zero growth scenario? I haven’t included debt in that though. EPS was 58.4... what figure are you using? | dr biotech
07/3/2019 08:45 | Disappointing, the EPS was supposed to come in at 57.5p but came in at just 38.2p...ok that's still a price to earnings of 10.9 but not the 7.3 expected. UK assets at fire sale prices only just now. | stewart64
07/3/2019 08:37 | STRONG BUY, price is a bit silly now. | this_time_its_different
07/3/2019 08:34 | Aviva warns of 'muted' growth amid Brexit uncertainty | smurfy2001
07/3/2019 08:34 | God I hate gd share news....price drops | adelwire2
07/3/2019 08:30 | Very pleased with these solid results. Very pleased with the share price fall as it allows me to top up. | riverman77
07/3/2019 08:29 | Result seemed good to me | mj19
07/3/2019 08:26 | Added at 419p. Ex-dividend in less than a month. | woodhawk
07/3/2019 08:25 | STRONG BUY | this_time_its_different
07/3/2019 08:23 | 30 pence divided by 420 pence, puts a 7.1% yield right now. If this is not a screaming buy right now, I don't know what is. | this_time_its_different
07/3/2019 08:19 | Annoying what the hell | mj19
07/3/2019 08:18 | Worse than LG now? | tfergi |
