23/3/2019 15:45 | On the contrary Mount Pleasant, I mean exactly what I posted, namely the share value should grow in due course and good dividends to receive along the way.Have you changed sentiment on Aviva? I ask because you posted (Post 23865) just recently on 10th March that you were hoping for sub 400p in order to buy some more! | windrushg
23/3/2019 11:44 | Do you mean, enjoy your own money being given back to you, in form of dividend, on XD date? You realise the fallacy of dividend investing? | mountpleasant
23/3/2019 10:31 | And over the next 10 years I would expect to accumulate a further £3.50 in dividends taking into account modest increases over time. There's every possibility of the share price reaching £10 per share that far ahead (at least). After all, MT stated that they've only been 'scratching the surface' so far regarding Growth and that there are 'opportunities for significant improvements'. I'm confident that the positivity from the new leadership,in future growth, will be delivered notwithstanding the recent stagnation caused by the Brexit debacle. | windrushg
23/3/2019 00:03 | Please keep in mind the share price will be weak like all financials until Brexit is concluded. In the meantime enjoy the dividends. | smurfy2001
22/3/2019 22:47 | A 7% ROI reinvested every year for 10 yrs doubles your original investment based on compound returns. Is not a fast process but for sure gives substantial gains vs high street banks provided you choose the right company that has high pedigree. Share price stagnation is not a failure using this method | tornado12
22/3/2019 21:50 | Yep. You could have bought this 10 years ago for the same price. In fact it really hasn't moved that much either way. But some quick mental maths - in that time you'd have had about 250p per share back in dividends. What's that about 60%? How can that be called bad? | dround87
22/3/2019 21:23 | I’m in no stock for short term gains, only long term and hoping the choices I make are still delivering in 5-10 yrs. I don’t follow any short term movements positive or negative to change my approach. Invest every year in last 6 yrs and next 10 that’s my plan with companies with solid divi credientials. My biggest player by far is RDS and Aviva is new starter for me, but with same approach. Everyone has their own reasons to invest and it’s your decision how you hope to grow your investments | tornado12
22/3/2019 20:39 | good report worth reading from EY | euclid5
22/3/2019 19:35 | Wasn't talking to you what's up. Porsche is my man | dround87
22/3/2019 19:06 | I added to my holding today for long term. | spcecks
22/3/2019 19:05 | I stated it was/is solid company and that it has defensive quality’s so not sure what part of my comment you believe is rubbish . For the record I’m happy to hold | whatsup32
22/3/2019 18:22 | Stop talking rubbish. Maybe look at a chart once in a while. If you bought before 2008 I feel sorry for you but it's really not been bad since then with the yield taken into consideration. To me it's just funny watching sentiment turn like clock work on every minor rise and fall. Mug investors buying high and selling low every single time. | dround87
22/3/2019 18:19 | I don’t think anyone bought into Aviva believing they would see loss of capital. All the indications were that this was/is a solid company . It didn’t help BOD couldn’t find a strong outside candidate either. I had hoped on a day like today it’s defensive quality would have prevented a huge share price drop but alas... | whatsup32
22/3/2019 18:11 | This pos never fails to dissapoint, year after year, its terminal, people chase the yield but whats the point when the share price at best static and most of the time in reverse, as soon as it goes ex div will be down sub 3.60....brexit sxxtshow not helping...like rest of ftse 350...income only if you can handle the capital destruction. | porsche1945
22/3/2019 17:43 | Will follow once my 2019/20 isa kicks in ! | tornado12
22/3/2019 17:16 | Took opportunity to top up prior to xd next month. Great yield. spud | spud
22/3/2019 16:52 | just drop I needed | eurofox
22/3/2019 16:44 | Excellent, great yield at that price. | uppompeii
22/3/2019 16:15 | next stop 350 | adejuk
22/3/2019 15:44 | Not really blaming brexit. More the press for their sensational doom and gloom coverage. Lots of other reasons today for trouble though. That's just the biggest one affecting my UK portfolio. | dround87
22/3/2019 15:03 | All my stocks are down blame Brexit | smurfy2001
22/3/2019 14:54 | agree dround life is disappointing eh? | adejuk
22/3/2019 14:48 | Not today though I think it's just an over reaction to the brexit press. Taking losses almost across the board though this is the worst. Not really any point for me. It'll blow over I'm sure. Worst thing would be to sell right now. | dround87 |
