Just switched sites so am doing a bit more on the commute. Was only 2 miles before. All these short journeys didn't charge the battery enough for the start/stop to work so will be interesting to see if it comes back now.

Anybody else tried AvivaZero for petrol cars ?

Take the car for a blast down the A roads should blow away the cobwebs.

Low mileage drivers are more risk. It seems counter intuitive but generally if we do something less there is a higher chance we do it wrong. There is likely an optimum zone between higher risk for lower mileage and higher risk for greater. Upping yours pushed you into a more favourable zone.

I'm not complaining but I don't get it.....
Just reinsured my car with AvivaZero and I got quoted 15% less than last year.
I noted that the value of car was a bit low so upped that by 30% and added 1,000 mileage to 4,000.
New quote was another 3% less !???
Included RAC roadside at £15 !??

Guess I'm just lucky.

Re my question yesterday, can anyone tell me why there are continual Form 8.3 declarations, when AFAIK the company isn't under offer?

Faith in Aviva model can reap dividends

Aviva’s target for operating profit growth implies that it must grow by 11% each year, which is no mean feat, but so far it appears to be on track. Recent half-year results showed a 14% rise in adjusted operating profit to £875m, beating expectations. Aviva is not the highest-yielding insurer listed in London — Legal & General offers a forward yield of 9%, according to forecasts compiled by FactSet. It is, however, at a small discount to some of its closest rivals on a price-to-book basis, which measures its market value against its “book value”, its total assets minus its total liabilities. On this basis, the shares trade at a ratio of 1.6, compared with Legal & General at 3.9, Allianz at 2.1 and AXA at 1.8. This discount on the shares means it is not possible to rule out future takeover interest — late last year takeover rumours swirled around the stock, and previous reports have suggested that Allianz was at one point considering a bid for the company.

This column last rated Aviva as a buy in the spring of last year. Since then the shares have delivered a total return of 36%, more than double that of the FTSE 100, which returned 15%. For a group with a market-leading position, strong diversification and a clear growth plan that paves the way for rising dividends, the price tag on the shares still looks too cheap.

Advice: Buy
Why: Shares too cheap given simplified model and clear growth plan
