22/8/2024 14:06 | Am just looking around for high-income shares for my son's portfolio... Is the yield here still high single figures? Why have there been Form 8.3 declarations for months? They're usually associated with takeovers but I don't think Aviva have announced any approaches? | cyberbub

22/8/2024 11:11 | @adelwire, FWIW the most recent broker comments from the heavy hitter banks who comment regularly are all pretty positive with share price targets in the high 500s. Eg, RBC 560, UBS 590, BOA 590,JPM 565,Berenberg 584. There are a couple with lower valuations eg Exane at 420p but they seldom update and have held their underweight at 420 for ages and have not updated their view in some time .They might be right one day of course if there is a market meltdown. If one looks at the data in "Investing.com" the average rating of 16 analysts is outperform with an average of 537, which presumably includes the bearish Exane.(dragging the average lower) | muscletrade

19/8/2024 10:35 | Aviva is a “secure” investment, having returned over £9bn to shareholders in three years. With £750m in cost savings achieved ahead of schedule, management is raising dividends and embarking on a £300m buyback programme. Analysts have pencilled in a yield of 7.6% and 8.2% for this year and next. The insurer has made strategic divestments. 483p: Shares Magazine. | masurenguy
