Parliament.uk has 16.7% of workforce in PS. Everything's relative. 83% of the workforce pay increases averaging 5.7% in 2024 with direct impact on prices plus potential demand increase. PS impact relatively minor impact with just potential demand increase.

Engelbert, that's nonsense. The PS is over 25% of the work force. They most definitely do have a big part on wage inflation. In amongst that concentration of workers is a fair sized clump of 6+%. Not insignificant at all.

I think its the right decision. Whilst inflation is a bit more sticky than hoped I think there are plenty of other signals that are indicating a slowing economy. Guess the adage of its better to travel than arrive applies.

Public sector wage increases have a minimal inflationary effect. Indirect impact on prices due to potential demand increase as opposed to private sector pay increases which increase cost of goods / services sold.

Never buy car insurance with Quote Me Happy. Absolutely useless online support. I'm chasing to get clarification on specifics in my insurance policy and no response for days. Now have to raise a complaint. Angry Aviva shareholder.

This may not have the legs to hold 500 this time. It will happen, but not for a week or 3, when the share will start receiving dividend attention.Until then perhaps an opportunity to buy more?
