The BOD have aleady announced that the total cost of the 2024 dividend will rise by mid single digit % (say 5%). The Dividend benefit from the Buyback will be in addition to this - 2.25% of equity bought back

I suspect that the divi will be 11.1p adjusted by the reduction in shares, unless there is any significant earnings beat.

I think we all expect an increase, as already been muted by Amanda.....The growth in EPS and divi are important indicators driving the future share price The current % divi return is not the best in class, but is the compromise with future share price growth. Less than 24hrs to go.. .. GLA

AV is my largest holding but their car insurance suite was extortionate - Admiral tried it on with an 80% increase for renewal but taken them down to 50% increase.

I’ve read EVs and hybrids (one of mine is a hybrid) cost more to repair.

But AV on that car cost 70% of Admiral quote for just one car while Admiral covered two others in their price! Reluctantly I stayed with Admiral but they seemed to be the cheapest by a mile for several cars.

That doesn't really explain why the turnover in LGEN at 26m is 6x (by value) higher than AV at 2m. Similar Market Caps. Would indicate to me that there are very few sellers of AV

1robbob,
Trading volumes are lower due to holidays.

"August is typically the slowest month of the year for trading, with about 9.3 billion shares changing hands. That’s nearly 30% fewer than the 13.2 billion in the peak month of March."

Hope you've learnt something new.

That's precisely what they said when I queried it - its largely the increased claim rate following covid and the sheer cost now of labour/parts etc

Aviva upped my car insurance by 20% but when I searched online comparison site it still comes out £1 cheaper than the next cheapest so obviously I stayed with aviva. It says the big rise of premium is an industry wide issue and perhaps also related to the sharp rise in cost and claims.

Which is what I did - when I got my 65% (amazed its the same percentage as its not a flat rate across the board) proposed hike

As a result got an effective yr-on-yr increase of only a few per cent

And that's after Aviva offered me a shareholder discount

Guess the other side of the coin is that spells well for the share price

Aviva car insurance wanted to charge me £865, up from £510 last year for no changes. That is an unwarranted 65% YoY increase. Absurd !! The insurance industry is out of control, it needs urgent and proper regulation. There's a petition worth signing that Mark McCann who's made several Youtube videos about the industry's increasingly scam behaviour. Well worth signing would encourage everyone too here: https://chng.it/jRft2PWScg
