So what's the point of having all that solvency then?

Come out at 2.38. Not bad but that's the drop we would have expected on exdiv day! So definitely some capital growth to come

I'm out, will see if LGEN falls a bit today and will top up there. The dividend from them will compensate for my loss here. DLG has also pulled dividend, they were due to go xd tomorrow.

This has never been bought for capital growth. Expect PFMs to sell out here & rotate into L&G.spud

I don't think it necessarily means it's less robust, more a prudent measure given these uncertain times. The key is the next review

Think problem is some investors only bought for the divi, leaves it very exposed in the short term

Sure to drop but that's also illogical as money retained in company value! Will take a while for market to recognise that fact

I'm the same, sold into the bear market surge. That said I'm very surprised at the decision to pull it, does this mean things are not as robust as we first thought? I think 200p must be on the cards in next couple of weeks

Im not so sure Alex, they might think it an opportunity to rebase dividend due to economic impact of the virus.

This will open well down this morning, very disappointing. Will survey the damage and might sell out at a loss today depending on the depth of the fall.

It's not like PPI, where the money is sent out the door. The cash is still in the business, and if covid-19 fades by the end of the year or before there will be a bumper dividend to look forward to.

... I can't believe my luck. I was suspicious of the sudden surge yesterday and off loaded full holding of over 100,000 of these at an average of 272 at a small loss. There will many more DCBs to come.

ffs some of us rely on such divi's to bolster our pensions, well under water here already so can't logically sell either.

Underwater here already this will not help what is Aviva worth without a dividend £1.50 at most.

Also indicates the following dividend wont be paid.
