14/1/2020 12:52 | I guess lowering the dividend = better bottom line and increased share value. The trouble is, overall, you'd probably be net equal! I'm happy the way it is, trusting that management can work some magic whilst stealing a 7.5% payday. spud | spud
14/1/2020 12:40 | I want my cake (nice divis) and to eat it (share price to not drift down). Doesn't seem too unreasonable? | ![]() thamestrader

13/1/2020 16:17 | I’m not aware of one substantial decision Tulloch has made since taking charge. Board needs to start looking again , Aviva needs better then Tulloch | ![]() whatsup32
13/1/2020 14:40 | Still too early to tell if Tulloch is the right man for the job, but those of us who wanted an outsider seem to have more of a case, given the lack of action and reports that others had recommended a more substantial corporate change | ![]() dr biotech

13/1/2020 11:08 | Aviva to rescue Debenhams' executive pension plan? by Terry Gangcuangco 13 Jan 2020 SHARE UK-headquartered department store chain Debenhams, which in late 2019 raised a new £50 million facility with certain existing lenders, is reportedly turning to British insurance giant Aviva to ensure the future of the troubled retailer’s executive pension scheme. A Sky News report said Debenhams and Aviva are in advanced talks for a buyout agreement that is forecast to be sealed within weeks. No confirmation has been issued by either party. The reported deal, according to the news network, is solely for the Debenhams executive retirement plan and does not cover the larger benefits scheme for non-bosses. The main retirement scheme for workers, which is supposedly suffering from a substantial deficit, reportedly has plans in place to be passed on to a consolidation vehicle. spud | spud
13/1/2020 08:23 | This share price after 15years of doing the markets is probably the most depressing just surprised it hasn’t been bought over | ![]() linton5

11/1/2020 18:40 | Woodhawk I bought in at the wrong time (Se La Vie) , my point was that you shouldn’t concentrate just on dividend yield alone. Capital loss can mean you end up losing money overall. Having said that I’m a happy holder in Aviva and even though I’m down overall I don’t lose any sleep . It’s a solid company | ![]() whatsup32
11/1/2020 16:29 | whatsup, Everybody's experience is different to a greater or lesser extent. I first bought AV. circa 2 years ago, and have traded to improve my position where the opportunity has presented itself since. I would calculate that I am probably more than 25% in profit over that 2 year period (divis inclusive). Recently, and going forward, my intent is to trade a little less however. | ![]() woodhawk
11/1/2020 15:47 | No I doubt it gaffer. More likely imo is an increase. The Company is more than aware that in order to maintain it's share price (lowly as it is) and stave off unwanted predatory attention, the juicy dividend is all important. spud | spud
11/1/2020 14:08 | Dividend has increased for some years although no guarantee it will continue that way . I recall they changed the way they calculate how much dividend to pay I don’t think they plan to cut it, dividend is also reasonably covered and there has been no profits warning. Int. div xdiv . 11-08 @9.25p Final. Xdiv. 11-04 @20.75p paid month later. I bought in at £4.78 year and three months ago ,even after getting dividends (30p)I’m down about 8% overall. So even if dividend yield is high you may like me end up down overall due to capital depreciation. Having said that it’s a solid company to buy and hold long term and now Brexit is sort of sorted there may be some takeover prospects . Good luck with your decision | ![]() whatsup32
11/1/2020 12:40 | Any hint of a divi cut lately? I had some of these a while ago and looking to buy back. | ![]() gaffer73

07/1/2020 06:06 | Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc (Aviva), expects global growth to pick up modestly in 2020, having established a trough at around the turn of the year. More importantly, worries about a more severe downturn or even recession next year have diminished significantly. Time will tell, but I have been an AV. holder since flotation so will continue to hold. | ![]() lauders |
