07/9/2012 08:03 | BPC starts in auction again - it's being manipulated IMHO. | johncsimpson
07/9/2012 07:57 | Kaos89 It took about 16 months for the share price to start rising after Hylas1 launch , if we have a similar reaction to Hylas2 launch then the share price would be minus 160p by Christmas 2013 . | colva
07/9/2012 07:42 | Actually, if you look back at Hylas 1 launch (November 26 2010) you can see that the share price rose steadily in anticipation, peaked just after launch, then fell back over the next year... | someuwin
07/9/2012 07:27 | It was motoring all the way before, during and after launch of Hylas 1, if my memory serves me right Kaos. I'm sure a lot of us were expecting something similar this time. Well, I was. John | 2350220
07/9/2012 06:55 | I bought into this company at the launch of H-2. How long after the launch of H-1 did it take for the share price to rise and was it a result of securing contracts? | kaos89
07/9/2012 06:31 | Hello wilksey I have a set of charts and indicators that I use to scan whatever shares I'm interested in at any given time. JKX happens to be in my' portfolio' of oilers; by portfolio I mean shares that I watch, not own. I can't think when I included them or precisely why but they have been there for all of this year and longer. I run this basic, scan every week but it's never ever flagged JKX. (Though it has been known to miss something). I don't actually feel comfortable commenting on someone else's purchase. I did this recently with HIBU (YELL as was) just using my charts and without knowing anything about the fundamentals and this is not a good thing to do. I kinda got it right for about 3 days but there was a 'debt restructuring' exercise going on (which, hands up I didn't know about) with the banks; the announcements about which have caused the share price to move 50+% up and down in volatile day swings. The share has been in and out of auction so many times this past week, I've lost count. All I will say is my systems don't show any reason to give any special attention to JKX at this moment and I've looked beyond just the basics. But then you may know something about the fundamentals that I don't. Re AVN I note that k0108356 posted late last night on the other board. I don't follow him on Twitter but he did post on yorgi's board to say he had sold, as did I when, AVN went past 400+ and indeed was still above 400 just after the Hylas2 launch. From memory he did slightly better than I did. From what he says, he too rebought and resold recently just as I did (he says he got in and out at the same price whereas I made a small loss). I read his posts carefully and there is much that I agree 100% with. He mentions 342 last night as a 'solid support line' whereas ball park I've had it at 345 /346 for well over a week though I amended it to 342.5 (post 340) early yesterday and AVN duly obliged in the final hour or so. My chart for AVN now looks totally different without the triangulation pattern, Current / recent data gives two new parallel support and resistance lines and they're descending . . . BOR Seem to be heading for the 24 area just above where I re-bought a first tranche. BPC My charts let me down and I'm all but out and nursing a loss. With the recent price movements, it's currently hard to chart where they might go but sub 5 has become a possibility. HIBU see above. I can't chart this and should never have attempted to. On the upside there was good financial news re the Eurozone yesterday so maybe a knock on effect today. As for me, I'm out for the day and will catch up this evening. | johncsimpson
07/9/2012 05:13 | Still got my 346.4p buy from last week , with the markets looking up i'm hoping that this will be the short term low but WTFDIK . | colva
06/9/2012 23:10 | Evening All, my last post had stated I was back in 378 well I was also out at 378 (for those that follow my Twitter this was tweeted live---none of the hindsight trader nonsense). I always believe in picking a good entry point and once the trade goes my way I want to break free, ie set a stop to have a "free trade". I would much rather pay broker charges to get out than incur interest daily & the initial commission charges.AVN is going down on no news in the near term, even a successful Hylas 2 launch is no biggie, already priced in (if it wasn't we'd be at 200). The momentum/TA traders chasing the fast buck have all sold out, I shared my feelings on the "nothing launch" before Hylas 2 went up.The last few days have seen 342 as a solid support line, all of the indicators I use are now in oversold territory. What I am waiting for is a pop to the downside so the market can "Hammer" out the bottom before getting back in, when I do I'll tweet/post it here. Today was a clear example of how AVN is out of favour with the general market, never a good sign. The market is aware of AVNs earning potential hence the move from 240>440 as all the fundamental/TA guys showed. Don't let this blind u in regards to why AVN is moving down, we live in such a short term trading environment that what used to be the power of fundamentals has been greatly diminished due to over leveraged traders.Anyway gents/ladies trade well :) | k0108356
06/9/2012 21:14 | recommend spreading risk Nuga. We don't even know that Hylas 2 is operating OK yet. | melody9999
06/9/2012 17:27 | Good to see you are still about Gary :-) | yorgi
06/9/2012 17:13 | Nugacity, Tom made no mention of AVN in his latest issue of RHPS. I think like this BB he prefers to stay quiet until there is some real news. | garymott
06/9/2012 17:04 | It has been very quiet since the launch - perhaps we have slipped off the radar? An share price of £3.41p so tempts me to sell my other investments and rely on Avanti lock, stock and two smoking barrels. I don't subscribe to RHPS but usually Tom's comments make the boards - is he quiet too? I imagine him filling his boots and smiling at how little it is costing him? Xmas is coming - hope Hylas #2 is going to be ready for people's stockings in Africa. | nugacity
06/9/2012 16:06 | Odd to say the least Colva, despite all the progress the company has made and as far as we know everything going to plan the share price still languishes in the low 300's. I thought there was a decent chance of the bounce starting today but it seems not now :-( | yorgi
06/9/2012 16:00 | Nice one Yorgi , fortune favours the brave , a strange day today , the markets are taking off and Avanti looks like it could have one of its lowest volume days this year. | colva
06/9/2012 15:53 | hi john i no you have your eye on a few oilers at the mo but what is your take on jkx i got a couple of them the other day paid 84 | wilksey1
06/9/2012 15:29 | hello wilksey They're better prices than some people paid since the launch and you've wisely given yourself the option to average down. It is difficult and even at this moment (and I mean 15:25 Thurs 6 Sept) I wouldn't bet on AVN going one way or the other in the short term - short term means the next week or so. But it can change so quickly and you may prove to be the wise owl and have picked the current bottom. I'm still waiting but I'm fortunate and have several computers at hand and I'm never far away. I won't mind paying 365+ and I still nave 450ish as the next potential high. (Based on current data). I trade and I'm looking for highs and lows but irrespective of that, AVN (IMHO) is a good long term bet. Good luck anyway and I sincerely mean that. | johncsimpson
06/9/2012 14:25 | Just bought ready for the bounce ! | yorgi
06/9/2012 14:22 | hello john brought in twice now two lots of 5000 one yesterday @350.1 an one @344.74 i was sharing the opinion that 345 seemed the bottom i am hoping i,ve judged it about right,if not i,ll be averaging down........ | wilksey1
06/9/2012 11:43 | Subtle negative changes on my day indicators are not for the good. But there's very low volume so it's hard to be sure. But once the mid price starts showing below 342.5 (I know that's not the 345/6 I've mentioned before) then things change. | johncsimpson
06/9/2012 09:16 | I wish I had the answer Kaos. My thinking is that until the company shows that revenue is flowing in and it will achieve the profits suggested by analysts then caution is still the order of the day. It's a case of whether one believes in the technology, the demand for the technology and whether the sums add up. | yorgi
06/9/2012 09:05 | why does this keep dropping? any ideas? | kaos89
06/9/2012 08:55 | We have moved and up which is long overdue but should be a lot more than what it has moved so far. With two satellites up there working now although only Hylas 1 generating revenue yet it won't be long before Hylas 2 is and that is a much bigger satellite covering an area with a huge potential customer base. Not forgetting of course the military demand. | yorgi
06/9/2012 08:21 | That caught me out. Big drop in BPC . . . | johncsimpson |
