Absolutely untrue but I challenge you to back that up. Just find one of my posts here on AVN (just ONE) where something I've said the charts 'predict' has been wrong.

Thank you everyone else; 100% with you superg1 - I've never claimed anything other than what you say re Technical Analysis. It's just a tool.

cheers, lets hope your TA stands up...i agree we are unlikely to hear anything in the next few weeks unless of course they complete their testing early. but that would be good news and yorgi and i both know what happens when we get good news!!!

AVN breached the upper resistance line on three separate occasions today, fell back through twice but ended the day above.

Also today, the short term MAs I'm using on this graph are now all in their correct (correct within my terms, that is - see arrow) traffic light, colour sequence, although it's not perfect and I would want to see the slowest MA, (the red one) start moving upwards. My three 'day indicators' all finished the day neutral though I wouldn't describe them as completely steady yet.

Finally, the MACD looks about to go positive.

If AVN holds above the aforementioned resistance line and doesn't drift back towards the lower line (which is still possible within the triangular formation), then the next target is a rise towards the 455 area.

But even allowing for a drift back, we're only looking at coppers in the scheme of things and the upside towards 455ish is, IMO, just about confirmed.

I've added a third lower support line (dashed purple) as it too is valid as a pennant / triangulation pattern. I should have spotted it earlier but it doesn't, in fact, actually change anything.

How soon we forget. But here's a good answer . . .

From part of Avanti's RNS Number : 2405J, 3rd August 2012 announcing a successful launch. (You can check it on this AVN thread).

David Williams, Chief Executive of Avanti Communications, commented:

"I'm delighted that our second satellite, HYLAS 2, has been successfully launched and is operating under our control. It will now undertake a series of pre-planned in orbit acceptance tests over the coming three months before we commence service for customers. . . . .

So, Id' say another two and a half months.

I thought about this on and off all evening and I don't want to restart the argument(s) but I wouldn't want you or anyone else to think 'you know who' was bugging me. He's not.

Good question Par, from the website we know it has been switched on so for the moment I guess we conclude it is working as expected.....I'm sure if it wasn't it would have leaked and we would have seen selling taking the price down.

So hopefully a RNS soon which should help the share price on further.

Third go at breaking out of the triangulation.

Two day indicators now positive, the third neutral.

The best chart position AVN has been in for over a month.

Good call I think because AVN has, a few hours ago, breached that top 'resistance' line in the pennant triangulation (see 256 on the other thread).

Also today, the short term MAs I'm using on this graph are now all in their correct (traffic light) sequence (though not perfect), and as I type, my day indicators are all neutral though I wouldn't describe them as steady yet.

If AVN holds above the aforementioned resistance line and doesn't bounce back towards the lower line (which is still possible within the pennant formation), then the next target is a rise towards the 455 area.

But even allowing for a 'bounce back' we're only looking at coppers in the scheme of things and the upside towards 450ish is IMO just about confirmed.
