Yorgi , yes at the moment short term trading is paying off but things are still looking good for the longer term.

Yes i have a core long term holding but i feel that there are opportunities to make a few quid buying the dips , i don't want to add to my long term position so i'm doing a bit of trading , the shares that i sold yesterday were bought 2 weeks back at 350p and 365p , the only reason i sold was because the markets were looking a bit wobbly and there was a decent profit to be had.

I'm very tempted to say 'yes' rathlindri but there's precious little volume. Still, even ignoring today's gain, it's looking good for a move in the direction of the 450 area (towards the middle of next month I think) . . .

Looking good and at the moment as we have a 'bounce' of sorts. Day indicators are all 'stronger' which is a very subjective call on one hours trading. But two have been steady / positive for all bar the first ten minutes. The third remains stubbornly neutral but with the occasional positive move.

added: oh yes, and the MACD has turned positive i.e. moved into 'green' in the first 15 minutes.

Nothing is ever certain with any share and a profit's a profit. You (colva) and I have done the complete opposite this past few days. I know you have a core holding so if you like a bit of trading adds to what is often a rather frustrating share. I'm no way criticising; power to you - it's just interesting that you and I seem to be moving towards the same destination with AVN but by different routes.

Going back towards the support lines. 2 day indicators finished neutral and one positive. Hopefully that original resistance line will now become the new support.

Off topic, anyone interested in the way AIM works might like to take a look in to the plight of RMP and today's events.

I have a fair few shares here and I can see me losing £3k to £4k when they come out of suspension . . .

added - apparently it's not a suspension it's a 'trading halt'. New one on me and the subtlety escapes me.

added 23 Aug - seems it is a suspension after all - the poster who claimed it wasn't was wrong!

Slight price anomaly here as there is a discrepancy between the price as shown by ADVFN and Sharescpoe at the close. This is Sharescope's closing price for today . . .

Not overly important though, and all three of my 'day indicators' had been neutral all day until the last ten minutes or so when two of them alternated between neutral and positive though they all ended at neutral.

added: No sooner do I post than Sharescope updates and agrees with ADVFN. Only visible consequence is the price line is slightly steeper and it says 386.75 and +3.75..
