31/8/2012 06:19 | Re BOR My charts have been bang on here and I said yesterday that a return to 24 was possible and that has materialised. There is still a chance of 22 but BOR is now more likely to reverse back towards the 26.5+ in the short term. HIBU (formally YELL) More evidence yesterday that this will actually now start to reverse and move up as opposed to constantly threatening to retreat even further. BPC Still worried but some positive signs during yesterday that any further fall has been averted. RMP Well I really should have sold two days ago on that 10% intraday rise. I need to try and find an exit point today and just take the loss as it's likely to fall even further. RENE Nothing to add except that it returned to 3.2 intraday. All IMHO . . . | johncsimpson
31/8/2012 05:40 | Hello wilksey1 First off, I've lost money on my 3 most recent AVN purchases (Two of which I noted here BEFORE buying both these buys were 1309 shares. 1309 was to do with the date next month -13th Sept, when I anticipated selling at a profit and also coz I'm sure people check and with these numbers there was no chance of them being a coincidence trade, not 1309 shares if you see what I mean). Sorry, I never used to be paranoid . . . Wednesday, I had a stop loss in as I was out during the afternoon and it triggered. So 1200 of my AVN shares went. I was a bit miffed when I got home and found the contract note but as you can see it now looks OK. Below is my chart at close yesterday Not very promising. But where will AVN go? There are two possible answers here. The first relates to where I thought AVN would go when I bought and that was 450 or so. Even though the price has reversed that target remains valid for the near future and will probably be triggered by actual news or by the expectation of news. Actual news may come in a number of ways but most likely it will be an announcement of successful testing followed by contract announcements one of which may be the game changing NATO deal. I think that you can be certain that these contracts have already been 'negotiated' and / or are being negotiated and are just waiting for the test results / reports before being signed. Last year preliminary results were announced in the first week of October so this years will soon come into play. On the down side there is / was a target line at 345 but AVN is already through that. But not so far through that it couldn't bounce. But if it does continue to fall then I have no other downside targets until it reaches 306ish. This doesnt mean it will go down this far and I wouldn't commit to this number until there's a few days more data. My day indicators for AVN are currently all negative and have been just about all week, so I'd want to see them move to the positive side. I can't offer any more thoughts than that other than as of yesterday morning AVN went from 'of interest' to 'watch / wait and see'. I will be waiting for that 306 area before I would rebuy, Assuming it does get there and depending on how long it takes (maybe up to ten trading days) I would restart to buy back in but with a secondary down target towards 250ish; so I'd be keeping funds back for this All IMHO, of course and if it doesn't pan out as I've envisaged well that's tough for me. But good luck to everyone else no matter what their strategy is. Also, this is a fluid situation. So should an RNS come earlier then things change. A poster I know kept on banging on about it all being 'heads or tails'. But he's missing his own point. which is - OK it's a fifty / fifty call but if you can keep getting it right or al least get it right say 75% of the time, then these odds become invalid in the overall scheme of things . . . I've challenged said poster to reveal a post where I got it totally wrong and he hasn't. But he has a chance now coz I have got one wrong though I have actually put my hands up (post 304 above and also the first paragraph above). | johncsimpson

30/8/2012 23:14 | I wouldn't wish a war on anyone, but I wouldn't object to us selling contingency bandwidth to the US! | piadda
30/8/2012 23:01 | well hurry up, cause I'm 22% down on this share | ![]() rathlindri
30/8/2012 22:26 | Whoever gets the bandwidth doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned as long as they pay us :-) | ![]() yorgi
30/8/2012 21:38 | The US forces would get as much as they wanted. UK government would bend over backwards as they always do. | ![]() sg31
30/8/2012 21:22 | Interesting point Volvo - any wars in the region could create demand from the military but I wonder exactly who they could and couldn't sell bandwidth to in such a situation? I suppose it's case by case based on sanctions imposed at the time? | count chris |
