This seems a lot of manipulating! :)Would you believe It's down 21% since mid January! Wow. I draw quite a bit of comfort from their very recent trading statement though. Really worth a read. Suggests the recent drops aren't in touch with fundamentals (or reality! :)Regards,Source.

Probably shorters selling to push price down as low as possible before buying back in time for Q3 statement. Or maybe im just too cynical and theres no such thing as stock market manipulation ;)

Could dollars weakness be a reason for the silly falls here? While this would weaken its earnings per share it seems out of proportion.Regards,Source.

May your palm be crossed with silver.

Looking at the chart above and given to-days price action 900 would appear to be a more realistic target.

Merci beaucoup mon EG.

I made my palm reading analysis earlier today so, for what it's worth, I take solace in your 965p gap, even if it is possibly too much to expect as a retrace. But by the quarterly update...

Good day Topicel

Ref Intraday Price Action

If you are trading intraday such price action is important. If you are a 'buy and hold' investor their importance is a lot less.

'Buy & Holders' are likely to be interested intraday when the share price is approaching an important s/r zone or similar zone ie. trend break, Daily SMA 200, etc otherwise it is just 'noise'.

As for the gaps - their filling or not filling is part of the price action from which conclusions can be drawn.

Goodness gracious, keep hold of your knickers everyone for this is one wild ride. A day traders paradise even!

Maybe Bracke could comment about such intraday movements and whether he feels they tell us anything other than we are in volatile times? I bet the VIX is going crazy too.

For instance Bracke, does any of these intraday peaks and troughs impact on those interminable gaps we so love? I presume not, but no doubt someone, somewhere, has made a study of them!

They better be good although the previous however many have been outstanding with buy recommendations coming out of our jacksies. Can't help but be dragged down with everyone else I guess.

When the global market is in sell mode the good go with the bad.

The main problems are oil price and China. Particularly China which has a high level of personal debt plus there appears a fair probability that the Yuan will be allowed to find its own level against the $.

If the Chinese stop borrowing the concern is that it will restrict global growth then stagnation which leads to recession.

Perhaps the qtr results on 01 March will put a fillip into AHT.

A big ask but would be a welcome relief nevertheless. Seems my portfolio looks now like it did a few years ago. If only I could say the same for me :(

Fingers will have his view on MACD but a 4 year chart is not the best way to view it. If you look at a Daily chart MACD is well down and suggests at least a retrace is due. The Weekly chart is also down but there is room for further decline.

I would not be surprised if the share price does retrace how far I do not know. The target would be a gap fill up to 965 but that is a big ask for a retrace.

I'll leave the graphic and 'gapic' interpreting to others better qualified and experienced like fingers and Bracke, but IMHO it appears oversold considering the bullish forward guidance in the last quarterly update RNS on 9th December.

All the usual caveats about such things apply, not least the dollar slipping back, but the company has not issued any contrary statement to suggest their previous view of trading was any different in the interim so, with just over two weeks until the next quarterly update I would expect people to also conclude this has overshot to the downside.

Too simplistic? Probably. But I have had faith in this BoD and what they've delivered so far and short of a further big wind down in all positions on a macro basis their should be some speculative buying soon here.

If not then we will continue to writhe about in an unseemly Biblical fashion bemoaning our woes as Bracke humourously posted yesterday!

Morning fingers. Looking at your charts with my uncultured eyes the macd appears to suggest oversold. Would you comment on whether you feel this fall is overdone and where you feel we go from here.

Bracke - I was wondering if maybe once in a while you could post some charts along with your posts? I'd like to learn a bit more about this technical analysis stuff and your gap analysis seems like its been very prescient upto now!

Some charts to go with your posts would help greatly in understanding and seeing what you are seeing. No pressure but when you can I'd be interested in seeing that.

No doom and gloom or hedging bets.

The probability of reaching the August low and ML was high and they were what I had been suggesting were the targets. The probability of support at those two is 50/50. I make no further suggestions about direction.

I posted about buyers and sellers and possible lower support zones. I don'k know whether the share price will drop further. I mentioned 800 because it was a s/r zone previously.

From your post 51717
It sounded as if ML and forks had been superseded by gloom and doom or are you just hedging your bets.
Cheers
