24/11/2020 15:28 | dow hits 30000, --- speechless... the entire mkt imho is way over cooked. we'll be celebrating P/E's of 2000 at this rate, that's if anyone make a profit this year. was that the Dow's last throw, it's pulled back as i type. | rescuer
24/11/2020 10:57 | Having been poised to fill the 3092 gap on the 19th the moving averages baulked right at the point of doing so. They are back to a decision point now. What's it to be. | bracke
19/11/2020 17:36 | 6 points short of filling the gap. Maybe OPEX will help finish the fill tomorrow. Today's volume of 2.5 million is interesting. 980,000 were sold at the open and 410,000 in the last hour. As usual the share price held at a 'round £' zone. | bracke
19/11/2020 10:57 | Thanks for your thoughts Bracke. | kilgallp
18/11/2020 13:35 | US housing starts up 4.9% above estimates Previous month up from provisional 1.9% to over 6% Gotta be good for construction Plant hire. | fenners66
18/11/2020 10:27 | 3092 required to fill the first gap from 06 November | bracke
17/11/2020 16:42 | Good day kilgallp The two vaccine announcements put the boot into my thoughts of 2750 for the time being but I still hold to the premise of a 150-200 point drop. The daily chart suggests the share price is about to turn down so I'm thinking 3000 for first support. Surely the market will not rise every time a new vaccine is announced..... I remain attracted to 2750 which was a very strong s/r zone. I will be surprised if it does not visit that zone again but probably not until next year. | bracke
17/11/2020 13:03 | Got this badly wrong. Sold my holding in September, expecting a retrace, when I would by the shares back. Only to watch it keep moving up. Bracke, if your 2750 happens I'll be back! | kilgallp
16/11/2020 20:54 | URI up to $216 ! | fenners66
12/11/2020 13:02 | great to hear from you Fenners, I hadn't actually put two and two together. just txt or ring anytime. we'll get a meet on next year. great to make contact after all these years. Clarky's credit card may have to come into play again - :-) | rescuer
10/11/2020 17:13 | There are so many pit falls it's impossible to avoid them all rescuer. When it goes wrong for me I review my actions did I do something silly or fail to do something I should have done. Attempting to avoid the use of hindsight. I always bear in mind LTCM. Considered to have the best brains in the business and they got it wrong. So can the rest of us. I remember you posting about JLP. Small oil and mining companies are a punt. More often than not they lose you money but occasionally they pay off, it's a lottery. | bracke
10/11/2020 16:29 | was hoping i may have learnt by now Bracke, 20 years here and still not made the millions - see JLP posted amazing results today, pity i sold out on the March crash and bounce - got out with a profit, but that would have been plus £80k if i'd stayed with it. hindsight and all that - good luck on your FTSE short, you ought to be OK - can see a pull back this week. | rescuer
10/11/2020 11:38 | Good day rescuer Woe, Woe and Thrice woe! It's always the same with the media - sensationalise. It's not until you read the small print you see the true situation. Needless to say the markets love it; volatility every time. The markets will be losing their friend Mr Trump so they will have to make do with 'Sleepy' Joe. I had a short running on FTSE so got caught out. I did not close it but opened another and am averaged at 6081 which I'm ok with. We live and learn. | bracke
09/11/2020 15:52 | Ouch! I imagine the market rise will have caught out a lot, such is the trading life. Unless the rise is a breakaway a drop back to 2750 appears likely in the mid term. | bracke
09/11/2020 13:12 | well that was me on the wrong side - was short at 2985 - ffs - closed for a decent loss - win some / lose some | rescuer
09/11/2020 13:05 | Every little helps..... Todays volume will be interesting. | bracke
09/11/2020 12:41 | Just fell 50p ! Terrible....... | fenners66
09/11/2020 10:29 | A nice gap this morning for filling. | bracke
06/11/2020 13:41 | US added 83,000 construction jobs in October.... Looks better for AHT | fenners66
05/11/2020 11:39 | Very high volume yesterday. It closed slightly down on the opening share price which was down on the previous day. Buyers are back in today to move it back over 3000. It's worth looking at the pattern on the 3 month chart above. The s/r zones are usually at 100 point intervals. Once it has broken above a 100 point resistance it will attempt to consolidate at that zone which it will normally do for a period of 10-15 trading days. It will then drop for 100-150 points before moving back up through the consolidation zone to a higher resistance zone. The probability is that the share price will consolidate at 3000 for 10-15 days before dropping to fill the gap at 2900 and then to 2850. Now comes the caveat, come on! you knew there would be one. Events in the US may affect but the premise remains. | bracke
04/11/2020 11:29 | Intraday and closing highs yesterday on moderate volume. We await 'The Result' but will it be final! | bracke
03/11/2020 10:14 | Up to 3000 with US Futures with a chunky gap. Presumably the market is working on the basis it can't lose either way as both Trump and Biden will provide stimulus. However it does appear to be ignoring the possibility of months of legal wrangling over the result. It requires a clear cut win to avoid problems. | bracke
03/11/2020 09:26 | Exactly.I know nothing.£35 coming up but don't ask when. | riley109 |
