06/1/2021 17:30 | fenners I'm think using Bitcoin to compare with AHT doesn't justify their prices rather the opposite. I have read up on Bitcoin on several occasions and I still can make no sense of it. Shame about the "slow steady rise" you will just have to grin and bear it. I really feel for you...... | bracke
06/1/2021 17:01 | URI has just smashed $260 Yes share price very high but Bitcoin is over $34k ? I just wanted a slow steady rise for the next 10 years - not going to get it.... | fenners66
06/1/2021 16:38 | Good day 2flat Good luck with your short. The share price does look stretched but...... Remember the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent. | bracke
06/1/2021 16:34 | fenners See page seven. My understanding is those acting in concert have to declare it. | bracke
06/1/2021 16:26 | Afternoon All Still sat on the sidelines, waiting for that pull back , I think it was 1250. The share price looks insane. Opened a small short at 3650. As always I live in hope. Cheers | 2flatpack
06/1/2021 13:02 | Read it. So we know about the 3% level and 1% thereafter , but I could see nothing mentioning the use of a a concert party... So in theory get 17 groups together buy just 2.9999% each and you are there. | fenners66
06/1/2021 12:14 | Good day fenners "What are the rules on declarations of concert parties building stakes?" ==================== This may answer your question. | bracke
06/1/2021 12:09 | Unbelievable! I've just sold a few more at £36.46 to lock in some more profit, never look a gift horse in the mouth etc.. Looks like an attempt to leave the 'decision point' at 3510 I identified well behind, lets see what the DOW makes of the Georgia election results this afternoon.. . | perfido
06/1/2021 11:02 | 3640 moving quicker than I can type.... | fenners66
06/1/2021 11:02 | 3620 and I still wonder. Just because of a couple of democrat senators ? What are the rules on declarations of concert parties building stakes? Is it possible to surreptitiously put together 29.9 % (or more?) ? Alternatively the US spends $trns on infrastructure which adds $60-180bn for plant hire over what 10 years, meaning $0.6 to $1.8bln a year for AHT in revenue ? Does that justify £36 ? | fenners66
05/1/2021 18:30 | And to show those ridiculous bears who's in charge it closes on an all time high of 3537! | bracke
05/1/2021 12:35 | I had to laugh at the price action this morning. Look at the hourly chart above. The share price comes back down to yesterdays close at 3500 and puts the brakes on bang on 3500 but then! Shock horror! What's this! Who let it take that sudden drop below 3500! It's those nasty bear types trying to steal a march and catch us unawares, we'll soon sort them out. Bring in the cavalry! Just the sight of the dashing AHT Cavalry resplendent in their green velvet uniforms with gold piping and gold tassel epaulettes (no snide comments please) and the snivelling bears make a headlong retreat with their tales between their legs. The share price returns to its rightful place. Order is restored. Long Live AHT! EDIT But what's this! Those cowardly bears are trying to sneak back! How will this end? Return later for the next exciting episode of The Battle of 3500. | bracke
05/1/2021 11:24 | Good day perfido "Offer me 2750 and I'll rip your arm off!! You selling?" ==================== I bet you would. None to sell. Good day fenners I agree there has been continuing effort to keep the share price moving up and supporting it when there was any danger of it moving below new support zones. It has broken above 3500 on four separate days but has dropped back on each occasion. Similar price action occurred at other resistance zones but it eventually overcame resistance which then became support. So more of the same? If accumulation is taking place prior to a bid I do not see any evidence of it. There are three major shareholders shown on the AHT site all are at approx 5% holding. If another is building a holding it is under 5%. | bracke
05/1/2021 10:13 | fenners66.Funny isn't it that GVC suddenly disappeared from the top 350 only to be replaced by Entain at the same time as the offer was made. The Yanks can give it but can't take it.Years ago I had shares in a company called Betinternet which was online poker.I think it was based in Isle of Man.When the government found cash was leaving the country for betting they outlawed Betinternet and threatened the directors with imprisonment if they ever set foot on American soil, now they want a presence in our online gambling. The market potential is what is driving the price.Ashtead keep buying up smaller companies over there and if they only have 10% then there's a long way to go.I'm glad they aren't scratching about over here competing for what there is going.Plant hire is still heavily reliant on construction and building and there's not a lot going on here no matter what they say. | riley109
04/1/2021 19:49 | I see that Entain (GVC - Ladbrokes Corral et al ) has had an approach from their US partner MGM announced today. MGM I guess are looking for profitable acquisition since their hotel and resorts are under pressure. It seems its situational in so much as its taking advantage of the US growth to come..... that made me think about AHT - why is the share price staying up at this level ? US debt cheap and easy, paper at a premium...... If there was to be a US bid for AHT consolidating market share would not be a problem as they have less than 10% still..... To be sure I do not want a bid , but something is driving us higher..... | fenners66
04/1/2021 18:13 | Hi bracke Offer me 2750 and I'll rip your arm off!! You selling? . | perfido
04/1/2021 17:54 | perfido Do I remember correctly that you would consider buying if the share price dropped to 2750? | bracke
04/1/2021 15:07 | fenners LOL. Not a believer, just thought at the time there was a few £'s to be made. There was a spike up in 2007 and I took it. If I remember correctly it was a rumour about something happening in Germany. Needless to say it was as usual BS. I suppose it's possible to make some money from it when it has the occasional spike up. It's similar to a lottery ticket and if you buy on that basis there's no great problem when it fails to perform. Unfortunately I suspect that when a spike occurs holders think the day of redemption has arrived and continue to hold for 'riches beyond the dreams of avarice' only to see the spike decline and any profit/minimised losses with it. EDIT Isn't it about time they came back for some more money? | bracke
04/1/2021 14:31 | bracke , you were , were , ....... a b' ..... be'...... believer !! No! say you weren't ..... ! (I know, you were just trading it and making some cash thanks to another poor soul ) | fenners66
04/1/2021 14:12 | kilgallp On the other hand if the market had dropped your £6k would have been excellent judgement. I sold AHT many years ago and apart from a foray last year have not made anything like I should have done. BUT at one time I held PET shares and on one of their occasional spike's up sold and doubled my money. That was 'superb judgement' but I could easily have let them run to virtually zero today. We act according to our best judgement of the situation. If we are wrong we try to analyse why. Good day fenners Another gap up today. Approx 100 points available when/if it fills. I would certainly be considering a short but would wait until the US open. Unfortunately the margin requirement and my current trades elsewhere preclude a trade. | bracke
04/1/2021 13:16 | kilgallp We have all been there.......at considerable lost profits. | bmel
04/1/2021 12:25 | Appreciate your comments Bracke, but.... I planned to sell and repurchase, thinking I might make about £6K. Had I held I'd be about £19k up. I can only see that as an error of judgement. They'd been my most successful holding for years, why did I suddenly try to be clever? I should have just let them run! But hey-ho, what's done is done. Maybe that coup is what I need, to consider getting back in. | kilgallp
04/1/2021 11:56 | bracke 31 Dec '20 - 12:00 - 58468 of 58478 The 24th/29th gap filled. fenners66 31 Dec '20 - 13:09 - 58469 of 58478 Edit Good news for the share price then ? At least today it was then .... | fenners66
04/1/2021 11:51 | Good day kilgallp You did not get it wrong there have been retraces some have been sizeable but they were not reversals. On each occasion the ground was reclaimed and the share price continued to move higher. The wall of fear confronts those who consider buying but it has not dissuaded those who move the price higher. Perhaps a major Black Swan would reverse the market eg. A coup by Mr Trump. | bracke |
