I'm very excited to see that pig launched by the way...

A FIRST for the UK: a flying pig... and obviously A FIRST for Anguish too!

What's not to like?

Maybe they could ask "Captain America" (Tidswell) to make an appearance as pig catcher at the Theddlethorpe end?

CQ ;-)

At the very least, George slipped into his Jan 6th "We've received offers... honest!" RNS the fact that Poundland needs a further 10% cost-increase to be able to be got to production (and then to see how much gas may actually be forthcoming). The phrase buried amid the "formal consideration of sale" smokescreen was:-

"... the Board anticipates a further increase in the contingency for the project (up to 10% of budget)..."

Given the funding already secured to go towards Poundland, that anticipated 10% "contingency" has to represent significantly north of £1 million.

Leaving aside (yes, I know it's hard to do so, but still...) the apparent fact that ANGS got its sums wrong yet again (this time apparently because it found out its design for Poundland wouldn't meet safety standards) and any quite justifiable fury at such lack of competence, that single statement, combined with the rapidly arranged (E)GM (just 10 weeks before the AGM, would strongly indicate that ANGS needs a goodly wad of more cash now to progress Poundland further.

Hence why several of a more realistic persuasion are expecting a placing pretty soon. Given the ever-nearing, synchronised but separate issues of debt repayment and hedge fulfilment, there's nothing else that ANGS can do, apart from pushing on with Poundland. It can hardly sit on its hands, awaiting any phantom offers. Not with those two timebombs ticking inexorably away...

As an aside, George still hasn't altered the company's own prediction of "first gas by mid Feb", even in the light of recent above-mentioned nasty realisations and the fact that not even the company's own commissioned CPR agreed with that. Hardly great stewardship of PI-supplied funds then... more transparency, peut-etre, milord?

JT,

I still predict a placing announcement today after market close.

Could be wrong... but ANGUS are nothing if not predictable - and a Bad News Friday RNS fits their M.O perfectly IMHO.

P.S I see James is having his usual monthly melt-down over on LSE. For a supposed large net worth investor... he suffers rather a lot of regular panic attacks doesn't he? Clearly he's not cut out for this game and more likely in over his head from the tone of his schizophrenic posts. Reminds me very much of the Multiple I.D Moron... it couldn't be could it (or should I say: Cudd it?)

Yes CQ, and they’re getting restive on the other site. I think they’re being naive if they think there will be a full update before the placing. I’d expect a decent gap of about two weeks between the placing and an update.

JT,

Yes... it's laughable how the shills attribute so much value to an unproven gas field that is millions over budget with loans and hedges all outstanding with severe time penalties attached!

And as we all know: Anguish have a 100% track record of FAILURE on delivery to deadline to date!

Hardly any wonder The Market values the company like it does. If they'd had even one success, things may have been different... but it's the same story with the oil assets: Sweet F A to show for all those squandered millions of investor's money!

What could possibly go wrong (this time!)

CQ ;-)

Why is welding incompatible with having a large nitrogen tank on site?

CQ: yes, for three or four months, anyway.

The loan agreement was signed in May, the charge documents are dated 17 May and would have been among the last details before the money was disbursed. I’m wondering on what date the first interest and capital repayments are due. May is a different proposition from July. Though, in my view, the hedges are the bigger issue. A buyer would know the details of his liability on the loan. The liabilities on the hedges are open-ended.

People don’t seem to understand that there’s a difference between Anguish and Poundland. Poundland is theoretically worth a multiple of its value this time last year. Anguish, because of the hedges, is not.

JT,

What with Jonathan's "Captain America fiasco / Paddy ClanWilliam's NMC debacle & Dear Old George's 90% destruction of shareholder value - since his arrival...

... I think we can agree that investors are in SAFE TRUSTWORTHY HANDS here!?!?!?!

LOL

more problems with EDF's nuclear fleetToday 11:03
French and German electricity prices jumped after Electricite de France SA revised down the production forecast for its nuclear fleet that’s vital to keep the lights on in Europe.

The world’s biggest producer of nuclear power reduced its estimate by about 8% after finding defects at some reactors. It’s another blow to Europe which is already facing an historic energy crisis with natural gas stocks at their lowest in more than a decade for this time of year.

The German February contract rose as much as 22% to 235.50 euros ($270.07) a megawatt-hour while the contract for the next quarter climbed as much as 23% to 183 euros on European Energy Exchange AG. French contract for April to June delivery added as much as 24% to 191 euros ...

Fresh extension of outages at several reactors means that at least nine reactors will be offline at the start of April, cutting almost a fifth of the total output, according to data from grid manager RTE. As recently as Tuesday, Ecology Minister Barbara Pompili said the country has “too many” nuclear reactors offline, as the government was trying to gain control of the crisis ...

ICE front month contract up 5.4% to 216.000p at present.

Drill or Drop on Captain America:

"Earlier this year, Mr Tidswell-Pretorius, the former Angus chairman, was found to have breached the share dealing code.

He had been under investigation for transferring his entire stake of 39 million shares in Angus for “nil consideration” to America 2030 Capital Ltd, a company with one officer, a 20 year old Hungarian living in Poland. The deal was said to be part of loan negotiations.

He resigned as chairman on 6 July 2018"

JT...

Dear oh dear oh dear... wonder if Tidswell still has ANY shares left? Still absent from the notifications RNS's isn't he ... I do hope he hasn't been loaning them out again!

Once a liar - as they say!

Clearly he did about as much forward planning and research on the 20 year old Hungarian as Angus seem to have done on the operational costs for Saltfleetby... do we see a pattern emerging here?

CQ: I’m not sure whether Captain America can afford it, can he? We should find out on Monday, presumably. Are they timing the placing to coincide with potentially embarrassing shareholding RNS’s?
