I do wonder if the board is quite happy to keep the company fairly low profile, as they want to build substance sure and steady, and not get distracted by a toppy valuation which would likely have fund managers snapping at their heels every five minutes? Although current value would seem to indicate that such a strategy is working a bit too well :¬)

I also believe that most of us with large positions in the company, maintain an excellent 'off thread' interaction with company management that we have built up over many years & that is mutually beneficial as management have come to realise that we ain't a bunch of idiots and do offer good feedback.

What do you want to say exactly Ptolemy?
The share price has traded a discount to a more 'normal/sensible' valuation for over 7 years here now.
you can either see that as an ongoing opportunity and reason not to sell or, you can interpret it in some more sinister way.
If the latter, that is a mindset you can adopt for just about any equity you choose to pick including the likes of Tesla, Amazon, Google & M.Soft.

This is what it is .. the market applies a discount for reasons such as single jurisdiction, lack of infinite mine life, limited free-float, concentration of equity amongst founding members etc etc etc etc .. I've heard it all here over and over and over since first buying the shares at 19.2p in 2010.

As I have said recently, I'm actually quite happy for the shares to trade at an obvious discount to true value for many years to come & over that time receive dividends and watch the company achieve its stated intent of becoming a mid-tier, multi-jurisdiction, mining operation.

While typing the online 0.8% spread has marginally increased as the price ticked up. Rare you see such a tight spread here and usually sensible to grab it.

I guess there are certain shares you trade and ones you hold and stick.

Most posters here (myself included, feel that value will come out in the end which maybe a year or two away and we will collect some nice dividends in the mean time.

This is an insurance policy which will hopefully pay out in the medium term especially with increasing gold prices, new mines, increase in JORC, JV etc

There are many knowledgeable posters on the thread and, since about 18 months ago, I've tried to read every post. During that time I've traded the shares approximately 15 times and currently my holding is small.

Today's share price, which ought to be geared to the price of PM's, is the same as it was exactly a year ago and gold and silver have gone up 20% and 42% respectively (in Sterling).

Given the intelligent level of debate and the (apparent) significant portfolio weight that some of you allocate to AAZ, I can't understand why there isn't more critical discussion of the share price.

Small boo-boo. No I don't think we should invest in Conran.

The increase in the Conran share price was in someways predictable for the reasons that you have given. I did wonder if the deal could have been structured in such a way that AAZ were issued with some Conroy shares.

LOL K65,yes I did think about buying into Conroy Gold but held back as I once inveted in Ireland in Glantas Gold.
It was not a good investment as the local council was a headache most of the time etc, etc.
It is suds low that I missed out with Conroy and it doubles and AAZ goes down !!

Even more irritating, is Conroy have a rights issue the value of which is purely down to the expertise and investment of AAZ! I'm delighted of course that the board of Conroy can now maintain their lifestyle in the manner to which they feel suits them.

AAZ enters into what looks like a cracking JV with Conroy Gold.Their shares double and ours go down.Anyone else find it irritating.

Fozzie, you can play these things, just don’t get caught up in them - it’s Italian, they’re probably closer connected to Ndrangheta than they are to real business. I’m only half joking.

Lol Bumpa, I looked at SYME a month or two ago, couldn't make head nor tail of it, just didn't understand the business at all, therefore uninvestible. Has the feel of something not right, hope i'm wrong if anyone has had a pop at it.
