Morning Wan, I’m looking for opinions how the volatility plays out, lurches like we are seeing in Silver are possibly going to become more common, stepping back from wild swings will prove difficult for many, so how does such panic or buying frenzies in reverse, affect physical demand?

Spudded the Chinook-1 exploration well on August 13, 2020

Touchstone spudded the Chinook-1 exploration well on our Ortoire exploration block on August 13, 2020 using Well Services rig #80. The Chinook-1 well is targeting hydrocarbon prospects in the Herrera formation at depths between 8,000 and 9,200 feet, the same geologic horizon that was targeted in the Company's successful Coho and Cascadura discoveries. The Chinook-1 well offsets the BW-7 and 7X wells drilled by Shell Trinidad Limited in 1959 and is targeting the same zones in which hydrocarbons were previously observed in the wells in an updip and seismically optimized location. The exploration well is expected to be drilled to a total measured depth of 9,880 feet, with drilling operations anticipated to take approximately 40 days. The Chinook-1 well is the third of four earning exploration wells under Touchstone's Ortoire Exploration and Production Licence. The Company has an 80% working interest in the well but is responsible for 100% of the drilling, completion and testing costs associated with the well. Heritage Petroleum Company Limited holds the remaining 20% working interest. There were no crude oil or natural gas reserves associated with the Chinook-1 well included in the Company's December 31, 2019 independent reserves evaluation.

Latest preliminary update on the CME report



Yesterday's volume was 281k contracts, which was a 100k contracts lower than Tuesday, but still a very high number, nearly 2 x annual production. Normal average is around the 80k per day, which is still ridiculous of course, but hey.

They managed to shed 6844 contracts, mostly moved to December by the looks of things and are now looking at 99186 contracts for settlement with 11 days to go to lower that number to something more manageble, say 17K which they managed to fill last time. Using this number going forward, they need to shed on average 7471 contracts a day or 37.355mln ounces!!

I was listening to Greg interviewing Craig Hemke and he explained why the pm's took off on the 17th of July. Suddenly it all made sense and the coin dropped.
The fed had earlier on told the world that interest rates would remain low until 2023 at least. Then, on the 17th they announced that at some stage in the near future they would let inflation run. I had not heard that before.
This is what happened in the 70's and gold went from $35 to $800
