Saudis won't let the oil price drop too far. They are trying to float shares in Aramco.

Everything in the RNSs today is consistent with the statements in the Feb investor presentation. Sentiment poor due to oil price drop. Whether the investors who stumped up 25p/share for the placing not that long ago are happy is another matter.

WTI probably going to go under $49... today as US Oil Inventries in a glut. opens up Tullow Oil for a small partaking as it has great bounce back ability and a quick 10% gain.

We all seem to be buying today. Would there be a buy side to this market if we didn't?

Well I have given in to temptation and bought another 25k - interestingly there must still be a tap as I seem to have got them at 21.2501 which is just the .0001 above the bid and it was of course marked as a sale. EDIT: Oh maybe i am mistaken and i paid 21.4274 as that mark appeared at same time.....still inside the quoted offer

If WEG group are involved in the pumping station and it appears they are, they should do a very good job.

Would you look at that RNS. Social unrest sorted. Now how many people do you know have that skill set across the globe.Stop your negativity and buy at 21.5p your nuts if you don't.And stop talking like there is a conspiracy to drag price down its nonsence its simple over sold and potential institutional buy should help with an almighty tree shake which last 5 weeks to free up volumes.Buy buy buy...before its too late.

Re my post 47630 mentioning no new drilling announcements, I guess somebody out there reads these boards after all.

Platanillo-22 is a step out well and as such carries more risk than wells drilled within the previously established field envelope.Have they published potential no. of barrels

Looking at the figures I don't think Amerisur are the ones likely to be under pressure. Its Ecuador that need every penny they can get and on that basis the leverage is firmly on Amerisurs side.

So its not a correct assumption to suggest Amerisur can be held to ransom, its likely that the whip hand is with Amerisur.

The assumption seems to be that no oil is profitable unless it goes through the OBA, which is incorrect, as GTE and others are still drilling and presumably still selling their oil.

We need to know in what respect the negotiations are for, i.e. amerisur picking up the cost without any benefit, or what the benefits are.

If the OBA transports 5,000bopd its very profitable oil and if that was the maximum, Amerisur have no liability to pay for any extra plant as far as I know, so if they are asked, what will they want back?

As far as placing goes, if all this was for front running a placing, then I suspect some would be in deep brown stuff.

The placing seems a long shot though as Amerisur already have the finance in place, and considerable finance in place, as yet unused

The 1st RNS seemed to me to be a hastily put together update which didn't actually tell us very much at all. At least the 2nd one is confirming that we still appear to have a plan and are continuing onward.

On the Feb presentation, Page 26, there is a Summary

headed

Capex plan next 12-18 months

No mention of anything required for OBA and that would be totally misleading, if anything significant had been omitted.

Very relieved to see the second RNS. Released, no doubt,, as they saw the share price tanking out of sight: being cynical, one has to presume that the best was to be saved for a second boost in a day or two, but they failed to see that the first RNS standing alone simply raised alarm bells.

Also added (but not in size).

rollthedice,

I suspect we aren't shipping as much through Orito because of the "other issues" mentioned in the RNS, but with no clarification how are we to know? Perhaps it's just bringing more production online that's taking a little time.

For the person who disliked my last post, here is a different narrative:

According to the Feb presentation:

"Grow OBA throughput with focused investment – plans being agreed with PetroAmazonas"

The keyword is "investment" which to me indicates that Amerisur intend to invest capital in the transport systems, presumably to get some return on that capital over time.

Given that our capex pretty much matches our cash position and our profit this year is likely to be constrained, we may need a further placing to get this investment (once details are finalised) going. Maybe others have already worked this out and are selling with the intention of getting back in on the announcement of another placing. Alternatively they are manipulating the price in order to take advantage when the placing is announced.

The situation above would offer some comfort in that anyone manipulating the price in anticipation of a placing must be pretty sure that the negotiations are all but complete and won't drag on for months/years.
