06/9/2009 19:36 | O.K - if the BBC can have a Fab Four night so can this thread.... Following the scandals in RSV and LGB - Anomalous decides that enough is enough and sets up the Investors Support Fund and invites three other investors to join him. In June 2006 the Investors Support Fund is created. A mixture of private investors, action group activists, first rate businessmen and....... Wealthy entrepeneurs..... | ![]() loverat
06/9/2009 18:39 | Yes - the Fab Four and 'Something' which I think was sang by George Harrision - in my view one of the more talented of the group. My what a time ago that was - 1969 and I must have been in nappies. I suppose the song has special significance and reminders to readers here for all sorts of reasons. I guess in years to come some will look back on that song and think of another Fab Four.... Yes - you guessed it folks...... The Investors Support Fund set up by the Fab Four (who had never even heard of each other - according to CJ that is) | ![]() loverat
06/9/2009 17:46 | Anyone watch Beatles night last night - BBC 2 I think. This song and video always reminds me of the end of the Beatles. The wives and girlfriends feature in this one. Interesting and shows how things move on in such a short period. | ![]() loverat

04/9/2009 20:41 | O.K as far as information recieved from shareholders/posters etc has been concerned, generally it has been quite useful and mainly concerns the running of the companies. As I have said before, that aspect will take longer to investigate and therefore I have passed this information on to the people dealing with this. I suspect the posting side of things which is being taken forward by myself will yield no further information from others as that has mainly been gathered through extensive reading and research of the threads which I think only I have undertaken. However a new lead did come to light last week which should be significant to what I am dealing with. I have taken more time this week to add the information and make the submission more presentable and readable. Not all of the e-mails I have received have been genuine however. Obviously not easy to weed them out but recently someone e-mailed me purporting to be a fairly high ranking government official claiming to be a shareholder in LDC. I am investigating that also as if as I suspect someone is impersonating a government official to gather information from me or otherwise, that potentially is very serious. | ![]() loverat

02/9/2009 16:20 | The aquisition RNS and commentary by Anom.... For the year ended 31 March 2004, BEC generated pre tax profits of #314,289, with net assets of #267,430. On completion, BEC had cash in bank of #475,861, with net assets of #305,000. The acquisition is in line with the Company's strategy of developing a portfolio of education businesses in Europe and Asia. Anita Wild, current owner of the school, will stay on as a director of BEC to continue to develop the business, with emphasis on marketing and business development. EPE Chief Executive James Holmes said: "The school is a good fit with Management International, one of our existing investments, much of whose business can be switched to Bournemouth, which will increase margins. Anomalous - 2 Aug'04 - 18:34 - 26 of 329 A nice rise today. It appears that others have noticed that EPE has tremendous potential. I also heard some very interesting facts about the recent deal. The word is that the students will be arriving soon and that the deal was much better than anyone originally considered. Well done the directors. I know you can't magic another £200k out of nowhere on every deal, but if you keep finding such bargains, this company is going to be in a very comfortable position in a years time. And after finding such a valuable asset plus an extra 200K sitting in a bank account (according to Anom and his sources) - three years later the businesses were flogged off for 70K. O.K - now to work out how much profit these companies made since being sold. | ![]() loverat
02/9/2009 08:39 | Just come across this recent developement. I wonder what the implications (if any) will be for London Asia shareholders. RNS Number : 1468Y Brainspark PLC 28 August 2009 For immediate release 28 August 2009 Brainspark plc ("Brainspark" or the "Company") Resignation of Nominated Adviser and Broker Beaumont Cornish Limited has resigned as nominated adviser and broker to the Company with immediate effect. | ![]() loverat
02/9/2009 07:25 | Well, can see no mention of the 200K in any of the official releases and seems it would only be evident on the balance sheet at the next set of results. Perhaps not something the company were obliged to tell the market about as it did state the total cash balance in the aquisition RNS. Still, where did this information come from? | ![]() loverat
02/9/2009 06:54 | Yes - seems like a good deal if there was an extra 200K in the bank account. Quite a significant sum for a company like this...... here are the posts which refer to this 'windfall' Anomalous - 2 Aug'04 - 18:34 - 26 of 329 A nice rise today. Will keep my eye on other China related investment opportunities as IMHO this is the market that will explode in the next couple of years. It is obvious that you have great knowledge in this field and I am happy to tag along if that is acceptable. Anomalous - 3 Aug'04 - 13:29 - 29 of 329 >pljohnson Re pljohnson - 2 Aug'04 - 21:47 - 27 of 28 Anomalous If you can pls drop me a line with any info you may have Ta I'll contact you this evening with info. Anomalous - 3 Aug'04 - 19:47 - 30 of 329 >User75160 Post an email address and I'll send you some useful info. mr.oz - 3 Aug'04 - 19:57 - 31 of 329 EDITED - THANKS FOR THE DETAILS ANOMALOUS - I'll respond as soon as I have time to study what you have said Very much appreciated if you would be so kind Anomalous I saw your post re hidden extras , on another thread - if thats true - nice windfall, sound work. Anomalous - 4 Aug'04 - 19:21 - 33 of 329 I would not worry about the drop in the bid and mid price today. Firstly the volumes don't justify it, and secondly (and more importantly), the fact that the offer stayed the same and the spread increased, says that this movement was wholly an MM tactic, which will be reversed pretty sharpish the moment the next RNS comes out. I don't believe the MMs are aware that the Company saved £200k on the acquisition. They'll learn. Leaving the spread the way it is does discourage people from jumping ship, but if you are aware of the information, you'll know that the MMs have positioned the price incorrectly. >User75160 I did not get your email address. 02/9/2009 06:29 | Anyone remember anything about this? Anomalous - 2 Aug'04 - 18:41 - 252 of 294 >User75160 I don't know if you managed to get some EPE today, but they rose a healthy 6%. Not only that, but I heard something very interesting. They found that the school they purchased had £200k more in their bank account than they had originally listed in the accounts. Talk about a good deal....£200,000 for nothing! | ![]() loverat
02/9/2009 06:17 | Well - I see Anomalous was complemented not only on the size of his 'bundle' but its immaculate presentation - by a High Court Judge no less. B e f o r e : MR JUSTICE MACKAY ____________________ NIGEL SMITH Applicant/Claimant - v - ADVFN PLC 13 March 2008 10. Option 1 specifies 252 postings. Mr Smith, in his immaculate presentation of the documentation in this case, lists every one of those in tab 8 of his main bundle, together with a commentary by him in each case. That amounts to 132 pages of text. | ![]() loverat
02/9/2009 06:08 | Anomalous - 30 Jul'04 - 20:38 - 251 of 294 >User75160 I like EPE at the moment and have held them for a couple of months. They are in the same field as EPA, but are about to start their revenue stream. Everything looks very promising indeed. The directors are extremely savvy about China and have the contacts at both end to set up a constant flow of people to their schools. On top of that, they have links with other Chinese focused companies like LDC. So these guys are not going to pick losers, only winners. I've put a small stake in them, maybe you could too? (depending on the size of your 'bundle'). Good Luck. | ![]() loverat

30/8/2009 23:23 | Well, Simon for the benefit of readers here I shall explain. It appears that Anomalous made a claim in the High Court against you for defamation on the LGB thread (I assume). It came as a bit of surprise to many as nobody could recall anything you would have said to offend and you were not on any list of posters which was circulating on the threads before you received your claim. Anyway, readers will be pleased to hear that the claim against Simon was withdrawn along with numerous others. | ![]() loverat
30/8/2009 23:16 | And this 6 weeks after that on the LGB thread... Simon Cawkwell - 29 Apr'08 - 10:09 - 2079 of 2315 Gentlemen, I have just been informed that there is a claim (in the Supreme Court of England and Wales, no less) against me, refHQ8X01203, by a Nigel Peter William Smith. Does anybody know who this guy is? Several others (well, about 30 others, to be more informative) are named. What on earth are these claims about? Simon Cawkwell | ![]() loverat
30/8/2009 23:15 | I found this on the old LDC thread from November 2006....... Simon Cawkwell Flat 3 59 Drayton Gardens London SW10 9RU Dear Sirs. You should be aware that a number of companies based in the People's Republic of China have listed on AIM without adequate due diligence and that a disaster is looming, which will cost ordinary investors dear and tarnish the reputation of the Square Mile. I wonder if you would care to comment to me on this matter by answering three simple questions: 1. Is it true that a senior securities industry figure has made a formal representation to the AIM team of the LSE about this matter and highlighted one particular company about which he had grave concerns but was told that no action would be taken? Why did the AIM team not even see fit to make some enquiries? 2. Why does the AIM team not believe that in order for a Nomad to float a PRC company it should have an office in China? Do you not agree that proper due diligence for such a float cannot be conducted from this country? 3. Has the LSE or AIM or the FSA received any representations from PRC Government Officials expressing concern about the lack of due diligence undertaken by Nomads in London on Chinese companies floating here? Why do you think that the Government in China now proposes conducting its own extensive due diligence on PRC based companies before allowing an AIM listing? I look forward to your prompt reply. Simon Cawkwell And this 18 months later.... Simon Cawkwell - 6 Mar'08 - 11:28 - 8557 of 8797 Gentlemen, LDC looks to me to be a complete wash out. Simon Cawkwell | ![]() loverat
30/8/2009 21:54 | Oh well - all very interesting but as we all know - it's not theories which count but hard facts. And we will not be short of hard facts - supplemented of course with a few hard theories. | ![]() loverat |
