13/10/2009 07:46 | painting - 7 Oct'05 - 20:45 - 4879 of 8797 Interesting that InAfrica still around after his posting of 27 Sep re 15-20% fee paid on the fund raising, and prediction of imminent fund raising proved so obviously wrong. Wld have though that someone who knows so little would keep quiet, but guess it proves the old adage that empty vessels make the most noise. This post always makes me laugh. By the way, painting you've not been heard of since Feb 2008. I hope those other opportunities elsewhere were rewarding. How about coming back and taking part in the debate? O.K here is a question to start things off: This thread is certainly a bit noisy considering the company has been delisted for 2 years. Do you reckon it's full of empty vessels and we should keep quiet? Or do you think we're on the right track? | loverat
13/10/2009 06:55 | Cougar6 How many IDs did you use on LDC/EPE for gods sake? The number I have found would suggest that you were systemically ramping the stock. | loverat

11/10/2009 06:20 | "It is now focusing on the commodities, energy and environment sectors in China" Well, that is very reassuring to hear. Any chance you could update investors on how the change of strategy is going? And perhaps tell us if the accounts have been filed yet? | loverat
11/10/2009 06:13 | And here is his profile from the MHG Website. James Holmes Interim Chief Executive James Holmes is Chairman and formerly Chief Executive (2003-2007) of Europasia Education Plc whose board implemented a new strategy that restored profit. ( 2002: 2.0m GBP loss, 2006: 1.1m GBP profit). The Company is a China focused investment business initially investing in education, becoming the largest UK corporate investor in Chinese tertiary education and in 2004 running the largest non government training programme in the world. 11/10/2009 06:06 | I see some of James Holmes outfits seem to be in trouble. Merchant House Group - MHG - looks precarious. 11K in cash on the balance sheet and abysmal results. I wonder when the company will disappear from the radar. Hollywood Media (HOL) - from June 2009 RNS The publication of the annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2008 has been delayed beyond 30 June pending satisfactory progress on the above. The Company has therefore requested that trading in its shares be suspended until the report and accounts are published Shareholders will be updated in due course. Yep - a familiar story folks. | loverat
10/10/2009 13:42 | In fact, if you look hard enough you might even have them already. | loverat
10/10/2009 08:45 | Not me loverat, you have me confused with someone else. My personal views on Littlewood's abilities have Always been about as far removed as I suspect it is possible to be from the word genius - unless by 'genius' you mean something along the lines of ability to make companies 'vanish' for example lol; (and from memory i have never spoken with him or anyone at the company, nor do i wish to)!! Incidentally I think you said you were finding painting difficult to pin down as to whether he might have or have had any LDC connections, something I wouldn't know either. I found this post recently which I thought indicated to me certain things of potential interest in that regard on the LDC thread, in which, inter alia, painting states that he has 15 years of experience in listing businesses in Asia (PBM = Peach Blossom Media, which had already been discussed in the preceding posts); - PBM another which took its leave of Plus-Quoted after a fairly short stay: 'painting - 26 May'07 - 14:45 - 7804 of 8947 If you read the PBM announcement correctly, I think you'll find LDC had 150k shares, worth at listing STG30k, which is no doubt the fee LDC received for listing it, rather than an investment, as the announcement says the shares "were issued in conjunction with the Ofex Admission." Re directorships - I think you'll find that LDC and LCP have a stated investment policy of always talking board seats on their investments, which is standard practice in PE investment. You are obviously an expert on listing businesses in Singapore having spent 5 minutes looking at the marketing literature on their web page - your knowledge is clearly vastly grater than the 15 years I have spent in Asia listing busineses on Asian markets, and next time I have a float, will certainly be seeking your advice.....' And soon after, re (I think) the LDC site: 'painting - 30 May'07 - 02:03 - 7819 of 8947 A few extra businesses on the organisation chart not yet announced.' Incidentally taking solace from the fact that anyone is FSA authorised, I would find of little solace - as a look at the disqualifications page would indicate! | egoi
08/10/2009 21:02 | Yes - looks like a few people including including 'incredibly smart', 'first class businessmen' and 'entrepreneurs' will be watching over their shoulders for some time to come. Let's hope they get a big six figure penalty. | loverat
08/10/2009 19:47 | Mack The simple answer to that question is a probable no. I am not going to pretend otherwise. But we will see. The first indication anyone may see would perhaps be an FSA Final Notice posted here. The thing is the FSA do not investigate all cases and much depends on the evidence provided in the first place. In my view the evidence is strong against three individuals and will be investigated. I have done alot of research on the criteria the FSA use and work on applying each example I have come across to behaviour which is considered unacceptable to the FSA. That is the key - giving them stuff that Simple Simon could work out. I will not name the offenders but they know who they are. There is a fourth who is abroad at present and that investigation is more difficult. However, I think that investigation will bear fruit before too long. We could have easily mentioned his name to the FSA but they would need more before agreeing to investigate. The offenders are also reading these threads on a daily basis. In fact they have been for months. And they are scratching their heads as to what to do next. | loverat
08/10/2009 08:31 | loverat will the FSA keep you informed as they progress ? | mack7heknife
07/10/2009 19:52 | Yes - that's the other thing to mention. FSA investigations can sometimes result in criminal proceedings. | loverat |
