Alba Mineral Resources plc (AIM: ALBA) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed an extensive airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey at the Amitsoq graphite project in southern Greenland, targeting graphite zones and extensions of the former graphite mine at Amitsoq, nickel and platinum group elements to the north of the former mine as well as potential gold targets on the mainland to the south of Amitsoq island.

Our contractor has now commenced the processing of the data acquired in the survey. Further developments will be announced as and when they are available.

The principal objective is to establish and prove up the continuity of the known graphite deposit and former graphite mine, both along strike and at depth

The EM survey will also target:

known Nickel-Platinum Group Element anomalies on Amitsoq island

Gold targets further south along strike from a known gold deposit and former gold mine

By the use of the deep penetration EM system selected, Alba seeks to fast-track the exploration and development of the Amitsoq Project.

and no doubt the Chinese would be very interested in a JV with Alba if indeed the results are exciting and encouraging ie SUPER JUMBO SIZED GRAPHITE FLAKES........a JV with a Chinese multi-billion dollar rare earth specialist would send Alba's share price into orbit......Gla BIG news expected soon from Brockham and Greenland......Significant upside very likely!!! ;-)

2016 was an eventful year for China's intensifying engagement with Greenland: A blocked attempt to buy a derelict naval base; controversy over the size of a state-linked company's share in a uranium project; progress towards establishing the world's northernmost mine. A year ago, no actual Chinese investment existed. Now money has changed hands, permits are being awarded and China is becoming a major player in Greenland's development. That involvement is also starting to be received differently in Nuuk and Copenhagen.

Recent strategic partnership Greenland Minerals recently agreed to issue a 12.5% equity stake to a subsidiary of leading rare earth company Shenghe Resources Holding Co Ltd (SHA:600392), which has a market cap of over A$2.5 billion. The agreement aligns one of the world's premier emerging rare earth projects, with one of the most technically-proficient, internationally focussed, and front-footed Chinese rare earth groups.

China to stockpile large volumes of minerals under new plan By Albert Li Published: Wednesday, 07 December 2016 Rare earths and graphite are to be warehoused in quantities at least 80% of the country's domestic capacity as China looks to secure supply of materials where demand is on the rise. China will build 103 national resource bases to secure its supply of certain minerals under the new China Mineral Resource Plan 2016-2020. By 2020, quantities of graphite and rare earths stocked in these bases must exceed 80% of China's domestic capacity in each mineral, in order to hold a steady "bottom line"...

ps Higher highs and higher lows, and if the next update from Brockham is what we all hope and confirm expectations and indications, then it will mostly likely make National news and Brockham and HH will be in full market and investor focus including Joe Public et al.......Gla holders. :-)

Today's rise was excellent considering the update only confirms what the market and most of us already expected, although the Corillian oil and gas, which wasn't, looks very encouraging......a 20% plus rise as new buyers flooded in and only pegged back by the inevitable profit takers, which is normal and healthy as traders and punters cash in, but the share price still finished 5% plus up.....and is now ready for the next wave and upward move with the latest batch of profit takers departed........the next update from Brockham could be a real game changer and company maker, especially if the gas detected in the Corillian interval is in commercial volume, although confirmation that the kimmeridge limestones free flow and replicate HH will be enough for full market focus and increased investor interest, and will undoubtedly place HH's extended flowtests ( Permit Approval very likely this coming month ) firmly in the spotlight, and further add value to Alba's combined 14.75% interest at HH and Brockham of potentially breathtaking recoverable volume of the sweetest high quality crude........and of course news from the Limerick Zinc prospect is also due and the eagerly awaited Greenland graphite and gold which potentially could be huge.......Alba really is a little gem of a share that offers considerable upside on the delivery of good news and positive data, expected in the coming days and weeks, a risk reward opportunity that looks firmly in our favour. Gla holders....continued upward momentum in anticipation. On and Up!!! ;-)

Absolutely pathetic ramping. All the news says is that there are hydrocarbon shows. Shows could be nothing or could be something but I'm glad I'm not holding this.

Encouragingly, we have also seen oil and gas shows in the underlying Corallian. Further analysis is underway to identify the extent of hydrocarbon presence and the ability of these hydrocarbons to freely move into the wellbore.

New Ultra Wave well logging technology has been used in the logging of this well and will, once analysed, allow us to make an image of the borehole wall in order to map the presence of, and density of, natural fractures in the target reservoirs. This will enable us to target the most prospective zones which have the highest potential for future production."

We will update the market as soon as possible with the results of the further analysis and as we progress further down the path towards production

Lol...c3 weeks but whenever, and if they start at the bottom first ie the Corillian Interval and it's confirmed that GAS is present in volume, then news could come within days....a commercial gas reservoir would take the market by storm, although confirmation of free flowing Kimmeridge limestones would have a similar effect. Rns 18/1/17 suggests c3 weeks....On and Up!!!. Gl:-)

"Angus has informed us that they anticipate the re-entry of the original Brockham-X1 well being completed within the week with the work to complete and case the well taking 2 to 3 days thereafter. We will update the market once we are informed that the well is complete and we then intend to make a further announcement once the results of the geological evaluation assessment have been fully evaluated, which is expected to be three weeks thereafter."
