15/12/2016 09:58 | Alba is pleased to announce that it has been advised by the operator, Angus Energy Plc ("Angus"), that work has now commenced at the Brockham Oil Field ("Brockham"), in which Alba is earning a 5 per cent interest. Brockham is located near Gatwick Airport and is only a few miles from Alba's other UK onshore oil and gas interests at Horse Hill. Angus has advised that it has today received the final approvals required from the UK Government Oil and Gas Authority ("OGA") and Health and Safety Executive ("HSE") to commence work on the BR-X4Z well on UK onshore Production Licence PL 235. Consequently, Alba is advised that the rig is now on site and has commenced work, as per the approved programme, to abandon the required redundant wells in the upper Portland formation and re-enter the original Brockham-X1 well drilled by BP in 1987 down through the Portland, Kimmeridge, Corallian and into the much deeper Great Oolite formations. The Company understands that all the original BP wells at Brockham that passed through the Kimmeridge and Corallian formations were drilled without properly assessing their hydrocarbon potential. George Frangeskides, Executive Chairman of Alba, commented: "We are very pleased that Angus have now obtained the required approvals from the UK authorities and have already started on this potentially very significant work at Brockham. Alba looks forward to reporting the results in due course." | moneymunch

13/12/2016 18:12 | I did say "unbiased" but never said it would be "true" Ivan Tucker 7 hrs · Dorking UPDATE from a member of Voice For Leith Hill who contacted SCC Planning this morning: 1. Angus Energy requested permission to clean existing well and perform repairs 2. They have been granted a 10 day window to bring a 10m cleaning rig onsite and perform concrete patching via a 'stinger'(?) on existing well casing - the council viewed this not to require planning approval 3. Angus have no permission to drill the new sidetrack, and have been clearly told they need permission from SCC 4. If a 30m drilling rig turns up, we need to contact SCC ASAP 5. SCC also said that the permit Angus received does not cover oil production from the new sidetrack - it is purely exploratory. | beebong1
13/12/2016 16:51 | Ivan Tucker 7 hrs · Dorking UPDATE: just spoke to someone on site at Brockham. This was NOT the rig. They were given permission for 10 days of 'cleaning and reinforcing the well'. 4 lorries have now gone through to site to do this. Opinion is that at present, no further help required at Brockham but stay alert. This may mean that it will be 10 days till when the rig turns up but we can't make any assumptions as to timing. If I hear more i will let you know. | beebong1

13/12/2016 14:15 | 0.4 plus to buy.......grab 'em while you can, Alba's share price is heading one way...... significant upside on side-track start date and a massive re-rate on free flowing limestones. Gla ;-) | moneymunch

13/12/2016 07:46 | Got to be good for the oil industry.... Trump Picks Exxon Mobil’s Tillerson as Secretary of State!! | wisteria2
12/12/2016 20:58 | Lol the fun hasn't even started, and the same who thought HH wasn't a big deal appear to have the same opinion of Brockham, and those that have sold will have to pay more if they want back in, significantly more on OGA/HSE approval and sidetrack start date, and multiples more on free flowing limestones. Brockham will be viewed as appraisal well for HH ( only 5 miles away ) and so success at Brockham will add considerable value to the HH players where Alba holds 9.75%. Gla holders....Brockham news imminent, Greenland graphite and gold anytime now.....0.4p plus tomorrow!!! ;-) | moneymunch
12/12/2016 15:31 | nice 4m buy at 0.41p | temmujin
12/12/2016 10:28 | Ps the last placing in September at 0.2p, resulted in the share price quickly climb to 0.4p, there's nothing wrong with a fund raise if it's to develop the company's assests with a view of increasing shareholder value. Gla holders......Onwards and Up from a fully funded Alba with near term transformational upside at Brockham, potential significant upside on the update from Greenland and then HH's EWT's to look forward to this coming year. Amazing prospects and potential for Alba , a little gem of a share with undoubted multi-bag potential from their bargain low share price and tiny market cap. ;-))) | moneymunch
12/12/2016 10:28 | Lol....is that the best you can do???? Alba are fully funded for all of their near term commitments.....the Brockham side-track is imminent. ...an absolute game-changer on free flowing limestones. .....massive upside beckons. Gla holders. ;-) | moneymunch
12/12/2016 09:51 | MM, hope it won't be another placing again. | thehitman1
