Angus Energy plc (the "Group") is pleased to confirm that, further to the 18 January 2017 announcement, work to complete, log, case and cement the well at the Brockham oilfiled has now been successfully completed and potential reservoirs have been logged in the Portland, Kimmeridge and Corallian layers with all three formations having hydrocarbon shows.

The 6" hole has been electronically logged using quad combo and Ultra Wave fracture analysis, it has been cased and cemented, whilst the old open hole side-track has now been abandoned and cemented up back to inside the main well casing.

The well will now, upon OGA confirmation, be renamed BR-X4Z.

Further log analysis and laboratory work is currently being undertaken to provide a better understanding of the Kimmeridge and other formations, but from the evidence so far, these appear to be the same in structure to the oil bearing Kimmeridge sections in the nearby Horse Hill-1 well. Notably, the Corallian formation, which lies immediately below the Kimmeridge, had both oil and gas shows.

Jonathan Tidswell-Pretorius, the Company's Chairman, commented:

"We are pleased to have encountered hydrocarbon shows missed in the previous drilling by BP in 1987 in the three Kimmeridge target intervals and are delighted to see encouragement for the predicted analogy to the Horse Hill geology. Encouragingly, we have also seen oil and gas shows in the underlying Corallian. Further analysis is underway to identify the extent of hydrocarbon presence and the ability of these hydrocarbons to freely move into the wellbore. New Ultra Wave well logging technology has been used in the logging of this well and will, once analysed, allow us to make an image of the borehole wall in order to map the presence of, and density of, natural fractures in the target reservoirs. This will enable us to target the most prospective zones which have the highest potential for future production."

We will update the market as soon as possible with the results of the further analysis and as we progress further down the path towards production

George Frangeskides, the Alba's Executive Chairman, commented: "We are pleased to learn that hydrocarbon shows, which we understand were missed in the previous drilling by BP in 1987, have been encountered in the Portland and the three Kimmeridge target intervals. The reported oil and gas shows in the underlying Corallian are also very encouraging. We understand from Angus Energy that analysis is underway to identify the extent of hydrocarbon presence and the ability of these hydrocarbons to freely move into the wellbore and that the use of New Ultra Wave well logging technology will, once the results are analysed, enable us to target the most prospective zones which have the highest potential for future production

I agree there could be significant price movement soon moneymunch. If Brockham disappoints then I'd expect the share price to fall well below September's placing price of 0.2p per share. A very nervous time for shareholders now given how much these shares have risen in the last few months. GLA.

Alba - HIGHLIGHTS

Several gravity anomalies detected

Gravity lows are interpreted to be a result of dissolution and brecciation of the host rock

Zinc and lead soil anomalism is present above or adjacent to the gravity anomalies

11 samples from pXRF considered to be highly anomalous (131 to 269 ppm Zn) for zinc, and 12 samples anomalous for lead (38-93 ppm Pb)

Survey area is 9 km south of Teck Ireland's Stonepark project, 12 km southwest of Glencore's Pallas Green project, and 25 km due west of the former Gortdrum copper-silver mine.

Background

In October 2016, Alba's wholly-owned Irish subsidiary Aurum Mineral Resources ("AMR") undertook a detailed microgravity study and shallow soil sampling programme on the eastern side of prospecting licence (PL) 3824 situated in Co. Limerick, Republic of Ireland. The licence, located in the Lower Carboniferous Limerick Basin, is considered highly prospective for zinc, lead and silver; it is 9 km south of Teck Ireland's Stonepark project, 12 km southwest of Glencore's Pallas Green project, and 25 km west of the historic Gortdrum copper-silver-mercury mine (3.5 Mt at 1.19% Cu).

The licence hosts the same target unit as the Pallas Green and Stonepark zinc discoveries, namely the contact between the Ballysteen Limestone Formation (Fm.) and the overlying Waulsortian Limestone Fm. A deeper target within the Lower Limestone Shale Fm., akin to the mineralization at Gortdrum, is also possible.

Very interesting indeed, ;-)

News this coming week to confirm well completion and then it's evaluation and asseement of the limestone layers and Portland, a game changer if the Kimmeridge limestones replicate the free flow as witnessed at HH, results expected by Mid Febuary.

The large buys from Thursday and Friday suggests extreme confidence...... it could be GUN increasing their shareholding following their recent fund raise, or another major player taking up a position who might be in the know more than us........probably too early for Brockham and so hopefully Greenland related, and/or just appreciative of Alba's undoubted multi-bag potential on their 14.75% combined HH and Brockham and other prospects ..... Gl Excitement building with potential transfromational newsflow expected soon. ;-)

Brockham oil field: Update 18/1/17

Alba is pleased to announce that it has been advised by the operator, Angus Energy Plc ("Angus") that, further to the 15 December 2016 announcement, site upgrade works to the production bunds are now complete and well intervention continues on site at the Brockham oil field ("Brockham"), in which Alba is earning a 5 per cent interest.

Accordingly, Angus has informed us that they anticipate the re-entry of the original Brockham-X1 well being completed within the week with the work to complete and case the well taking 2 to 3 days thereafter. We will update the market once we are informed that the well is complete and we then intend to make a further announcement once the results of the geological evaluation assessment have been fully evaluated, which is expected to be three weeks thereafter.

18/1/17 RNS Brockham Update

Angus has informed us that they anticipate the re-entry of the original Brockham-X1 well being completed within the week with the work to complete and case the well taking 2 to 3 days thereafter. We will update the market once we are informed that the well is complete and we then intend to make a further announcement once the results of the geological evaluation assessment have been fully evaluated, which is expected to be three weeks thereafter.

16/12/16 Rns Limerick Update........news expected soon
Approximately 140 samples from the shallow soil survey area are currently being assayed at ALS (Ireland), and the results will be reported when available.

Maps from the geophysical and geochemical surveys will shortly be available on the Company's website.

Proposed Future Work on the Limerick Project

Subject to the soil assay results, the next stage of work will be to conduct several Induced Polarization (IP) lines over potential targets. If warranted, follow-up exploration drilling will take place to explain the cause of the geochemical and geophysical anomalism.

Mike Nott, Alba's CEO, commented:

"We are extremely pleased with the success of the gravity study and the preliminary soil geochemistry on PL3824. The gravity study is interpreted to have identified possible brecciation, a feature that is associated with Irish-Type mineralization, whereas the portable XRF data suggests we are in an area of base metal anomalism."

"We eagerly look forward to the soil geochemistry assays, and hope to tie the results in with previous studies conducted on the licence to further our exploration efforts."

3/10/16 Rns Greenland Update.......news now due.

Alba Mineral Resources plc (AIM: ALBA) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed an extensive airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey at the Amitsoq graphite project in southern Greenland, targeting graphite zones and extensions of the former graphite mine at Amitsoq, nickel and platinum group elements to the north of the former mine as well as potential gold targets on the mainland to the south of Amitsoq island.

Our contractor has now commenced the processing of the data acquired in the survey. Further developments will be announced as and when they are available.

----------------------------------

The principal objective is to establish and prove up the continuity of the known graphite deposit and former graphite mine, both along strike and at depth

The EM survey will also target:

known Nickel-Platinum Group Element anomalies on Amitsoq island

Gold targets further south along strike from a known gold deposit and former gold mine

By the use of the deep penetration EM system selected, Alba seeks to fast-track the exploration and development of the Amitsoq Project

17/10/16 Rns Horse Hill - EWT Permit Approval Application - Public Consultation ends 2/2/17 and so news this coming month very likely.

Mike Nott, Alba's Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"This planning application is designed to move these already discovered assets into near-term oil production and the monetisation of our recoverable resources. It is also one of the key steps in furthering our knowledge of the Kimmeridge Micritic Limestone formations that also lie beneath our other oil and gas interests at Brockham (PL235), which is also in the Weald Basin some eight kilometres to the north-west of the HHDL site. We look forward to further engaging with stakeholders and to a successful planning outcome."

The normal local planning authority cycle for an application not requiring an Environmental Impact Assessment, such as at Horse Hill, takes approximately 13 weeks.

13/1/17 Rns ...news at anytime.

The Company has applied for the reissue of a uranium permit in northern Mauritania. The new Mauritanian permit will be on a reduced area, and is centred on known uranium-bearing showings.

13/1/17 Rns News at anytime. ;-)

Those share options granted pursuant to the EMI scheme are subject to accelerated vesting in certain circumstances, including pursuant to a change of control of the Company following a completed takeover offer.

Alba continues actively to review and discuss numerous other project opportunities which have value-enhancing potential for the Company whether by acquisition, farm in or joint venture in a range of jurisdictions around the world.

Angus Energy Plc (LON:ANGS) has given investors an update on its operation onshore UK at the Brockham field where it is about to start the re-entry of an existing well bore. The company, in a concise statement, said that work to upgrade the existing well’s infrastructure (production bungs) are now complete.

In the next few days it expects to start the re-entry, it then anticipates to complete and case the well in around two to three days. “The group will update the market once the well is complete and then make a further announcement when it is in a position to fully evaluate the results of the geological evaluation assessment, expected to be 3 weeks thereafter,” the company said. Angus is one of the onshore UK oilers invested in Brockham, a project that could replicate success seen at nearby Horse Hill. It is the operator at Brockham with a 55% interest in the field, alongside partners Doriemus and Alba Minerals which own 10% and 5% respectively.

The current operation is a re-entry and sidetrack to a hole drilled by BP (LON:BP.) in 1987 that will first go into the Portland sandstone, host to a known oil play that is already generating 35 barrels a day. It will then push on into the Kimmeridge, before perforating a horizon called the Coralian.

The Kimmeridge has the potential to really move the needle, for this was the source for all the excitement at nearby Horse Hill, which flowed at a better than expected 1,688 barrels a day. Horse Hill and Brockham are thought to share many geological similarities.

The results will be eagerly anticipated from three discrete layers within the Kimmeridge. What the experts suspect is the Kimmeridge at Horse Hill is naturally fractured, allowing oil to accumulate, so that when accessed, it flows easily to surface under its own steam. If this model holds up then there would be no need for fracking to release this hydrocarbon bounty. “All the original BP wells at Brockham that passed through the Kimmeridge and Corallian formations were drilled without properly assessing their hydrocarbon potential,” said Angus chairman Jonathan Tidswell-Pretorius.

“[We] look forward to update the market with the results of the assessment in due course." The same geology as Horse Hill? There is no guarantee that Brockham will enjoy identical geology to Horse Hill – but there is a suspicion it does; well more than that. It is a hunch based on drilling carried out by BP, which used to own the Brockham licence.

One of Angus’ field partners, a firm called Doriemus, commissioned the consultant Nutech to make a comparative analysis of the Horse Hill-1 well and Brockham-1, sunk by BP in the 1980s. Angus believes the maturity and fracture analysis of the two have striking similarities. Re-entering the Portland should increase output by 150 barrels a day.

If the Kimmeridge plays out in the same way it did at Horse Hill then you might add a further 1,400 barrels to production. That’s a big deal.
